Baptist preachers love to ridicule and mock the Catholic church. The Catholic church is a false religion that leads people to hell. They preach a works-salvation. They worship idols and have beliefs that are not taught in the Bible.

And if all that isn’t enough……….there’s the Catholic sex and abuse scandal. Most every day another story appears in the news about a priest molesting someone. Worse yet, the Pope and church leaders try to cover up the scandals.

Lots to mock…….lots to ridicule. I have a hard time understanding why anyone, knowing what they now know, would want to be a Catholic.

While Baptist preachers attack and rain fire and brimstone down on the Catholic church they forget that their own backyard is not very clean. Their closets have quite a few skeletons.

I have documented many times on this blog the group homes run by Baptist preachers where children are often ritually and methodically abused. This abuse has been going on since the 1970’s.

Every month the Freedom From Religion Foundation puts out  a Black Collar Crime list. They detail the crimes of dozens and dozens of preachers and church leaders who have been accused and/or convicted of everything from murder to rape. 

I personally know of quite a few pastors who “fell into sin.”  They didn’t actually fall into anything……….they ran into sin. With their pockets open and their fly down they sought out those they could misuse, abuse and destroy.

There is not as big of a problem with male on male sex crime in the Baptist church as there is in the Catholic church. Baptist preachers tend to like girls and women. Check out the Conservative Babylon blog. Lots of proof that Baptists are quite a philandering group.

Baptist church members are often taught that if they didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. I know of preachers who drilled that thinking into the heads of their parishioners all the while they were drilling something else behind closed doors.

On one hand………all this tells us is that Baptists sin like everyone else does. True, but Baptist preachers are quite arrogant about their “sinlessness.” They set themselves up as the moral standard and when a person does that they must expect to be judged by that high standard.

I know several preachers who rant and rave over sexual sin. How soon they forget……..I remember when we went to college together. I remember when they confessed to doing the deed with the woman who is now called the pastor’s wife. I doubt they have ever, in a moment of contrition and compassion, said, “I know the sexual pressures you are under…….I have been there!” Oh No, they must maintain the thundering from the mount Moses standard at all costs.

Baptist preachers sin like everyone else does. They commit adultery and fornication, abuse children, commit heinous crimes, murder, rape, steal, and destroy just like the general populous. Many preachers are fine, upstanding moral and ethical men. Some, I suspect, are as pure as the driven snow. For the most part…..Baptist preachers are just like any other man, an admixture of good and bad, men who can rise to great heights or fall into the slimy pit of disgust. Forget God, forget the Bible….every man has a choice whether or not to be a good human being.

The Bible gives some good advice……..He that is without sin let him cast the first stone. I know of a lot of Baptist preachers that need to stop chucking rocks.
