Thanks for sharing the link, John.

Creationists are alive and well all over the world. The internet allows them to have a bigger presence than they would years ago. (and the same can be said for any group, including atheists) I am glad there are watchdog groups that pay careful attention to creationist attempts to pass off their theology for science in school science classrooms.

Here in TN, they have taken steps though new legislation to allow creationism back into the classroom. This law turns the clock back nearly 100 years here in the seemingly unprogressive South and is simply embarrassing. There is no argument against the Theory of Evolution other than that of religious doctrine. The Monkey Law only opens the door for fanatic Christianity to creep its way back into our classrooms. You can see my visual response as a Tennessean to this absurd law on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/04/pulpit-in-classroom-biblical-agenda-in.html with some evolutionary art and a little bit of simple logic.

      Brandt,

Welcome, and thanks for commenting. It is sad that we must still fight a battle that was supposedly fought 90 years ago. You would have thought the recent Dover court decision here in Ohio would have put an end to the creationist nonsense…but, here we are, in state after state having to fight for the right of children to be taught science and not religious dogma hiding under a thin veneer of science.
