There is this idea in the alternate reality known as Republicanism that corporations and employers should be free to do whatever they want. Regulation is bad. The job creators must be free to work their magic without anyone telling them what to do and how to do it.

Yeah we tried that. Remember the good old  days when we has 10 year old children working 12 hours a day in unsafe factories days?

Many Republicans and Democrats are nothing more than shills for corporations and employers whose only interest is to make, by any means possible, as much money as possible.  Anything the mythical job creators want they get. Like a child who has been spoiled by over-indulgent parents, job creators stomp, whine, cry, throw a fit, and send their Lobbyist whores to Washington when they don’t get their way. Personally, I have had enough of this.

Libertarianism runs deep in the veins of those who believe that the right to make money is part of the US Bill of Rights. Corporations and employers must be free from any and all regulation and control.

Many of the pro-job creators are also pro-Jesus. Corporatism, along with fascism, is quite prominent in the dominant religion of America, Evangelical Christianity.

In a classic case of hypocrisy, they want to free corporations to do whatever they want to do to make money, while, at the same time, place every American under strict moral and ethical laws. They demand that their religious law be the law of the land.

Why is it that corporations should be free to screw whoever they want, whenever they want, but American citizens shouldn’t be free to do the same?

Let me illustrate this further.

My wife works for an employer who has taken away from their employees numerous benefits. They have repeatedly raised the cost of insurance. It now costs us 5,000.00 a year more for medical expenses than it did 6 or 7 years ago. They dropped a vested retirement program, changed to a 401K, and then stopped funding it. Retirement? Gone.

According to the Chamber of Commerce types, my wife’s employer must be free to change terms of employment any time they want to. This allows them to react to changing market conditions. After all, everyone knows that corporations and employers have the best interest of their employees at heart, right?

Shouldn’t my wife’s employer be held to the commitment they made to her years ago when they said…….we will hire you and these are the benefits we will provide?

Not according to the cheerleaders for the job creators. Corporations and employers must be free to fuck you at will and if you don’t like it then quit.  Go get a job somewhere else.

Remember, Jesus is a prominent  figure in this kind of thinking. (How they think this is even remotely Christian is beyond me) Remember, they demand the Bible be the law book for everyone. Isn’t this hypocritical?

Why shouldn’t every American citizen be treated like the job creators?  Child support? Nah, I don’t want to pay for my kids any more?  Taxes towards defense spending? Nah, I need that money to pay for a new BBQ and pool table. Got to look after the “investors”, after all.

Why do Chamber of Commerce types think corporations and employers should be free to engage in a libertarian way of life yet they refuse to allow American citizens the same unbridled freedom. My God, that sounds un-American.

Here in Ohio there is a move on to turn Ohio into a right-to-work state. Again, the job creators must be freed to work their magic. Unions are bad. Unions hurt the bottom line. Unions restrict what corporations and employers can do. Surely you know that UNIONS are to blame for all the job outsourcing over the past 20 years.

Bullshit.

I am tired of all the union bashing, the finger pointing at union workers and their contracts.

First, who agreed to the contracts? Corporations and employers. So shut the fuck up, as Jon Stewart would say, and quit your whining. You could have said NO to the contract but you didn’t. Now, because you can’t afford a new yacht or the stockholders are restless,  the workers wages and benefits must be cut.

Second, why do Chamber of Commerce types want a race to the bottom instead of a race to the top for workers? We should be striving to become a nation of well-paid workers with benefits worthy of the honorable, hard work they do. It is the job creators, many times, who have made their millions, not from work, but from paper shuffling and market manipulation.

I have no respect for men Mitt Romney who make their millions through destruction and manipulation. My respect is reserved for those who know what is to work hard for a buck, who know the value and importance of a dollar raise or an extra week of vacation.

I live in a area dominated by manufacturing, jobs which, at one time, provided a pathway to a middle class lifestyle. These blue collar workers were the bedrock of America. Now they are treated like dog shit on the bottom of a banker’s wing tips.

Go back to school, they are told. And do what? Who will hire them when they get out of school at age 58? And for what? A job that pays less than what they made in the factory, a job with little or no benefits?

The bottom line is this………in America…….the blue collar worker doesn’t matter. The every day white collar worker doesn’t matter either. All that matters is profits. All that matters is making sure the shareholders can restock their liquor cabinet.

Class warfare, you charge? Damn straight it is. And it is for this reason, I am a socialist. American workers need to wake up and stop supporting and voting for politicians that are out to reduce their life to standing in a soup line. (remember these same people want to do away with all government entitlement and welfare programs so some day the soup line might be the first and last defense against starvation)
