The Sounds of Fundamentalism: Ain’t No Homo Going to Make it To Heaven by Child Preacher

preachers say the darndest things

This is the twentieth installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section.  Let’s have some fun!

Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a clip from a sermon preached by a child preacher at Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Greensburg, Indiana.

One church member, when asked about the child preacher condemning homos, said:

The people who are upset just don’t read the word of God. If we don’t teach the children the truth early they will never learn… Of course we applauded a child who is singing a song about God.

Uh, calling people who are different from you a sexual epithet shows that the only lessons this little boy learned are the ones on hatred and bigotry.

This kind of ‘love’ is truly hatred. Sweet Jesus, what the fuck… Pity the children: They come into our lives full of potential, hungry to learn and live fully and this is what we do to them… In the beginning, God created the perfect child and then passed that child into the hands of church-goers like these… Why don’t Christians just stand up to the plate and eat their children raw? That would be more honest than this display of utter depravity.

That’s child abuse, plain and simple. And the people whooping and hollering…. what the fuck, people?? God’s going to burn someone for eternity?! Wooo!! Standing ovation!!! What the hell did any of them ever do to you?? Did a gay person make you do gay things? No?? It’s unbelievable how much pure, unadulterated BLOODLUST these Christians have! They can’t wait for you to burn. They can barely contain their glee at the very thought of the idea of you being tortured for all of eternity! They get a big Christian boner at the thought of death and destruction!

This is where I start getting ready to say “open the gulags.”

To say nothing of how inappropriate it is to teach young children about homosexuality and how evil it is, when they are too young to even understand sex. These people are bad, just bad, to use little children like puppets this way.

The only difference that I’m aware of is that they don’t picket military funerals. And really, that is what it took to get people so angry at Westboro. They had been doing their “God hates fags” thing for years and years, and Christians took absolutely ZERO exception to their antics. It was only when they started daring to insult military people that the average American fundagelical got all outraged at them. You can say anything you want about gay people, but don’t you dare insult a soldier, especially not a dead one! The hypocrisy is pretty mind-blowing.

I know for a fact the mother was mortified the father tought there son to sing such a thing.we have family that are married or are in same sex marriage. And we have biracial family and we love them unconditionally. The mother has now found the courage to leave the church and the father with the help of the pastor and the church and his family hid her children from her for over a month long enough to brain wash them to think she abandoned them. And now she took him to court to get them they are giving her 7:30-6 Mon- sat and every other weekend till they go back to court Aug 17th 2018, but every time they go home they are taken to the pastor and the father’s family and brain washed again. It’s making it so hard for her.. the father owns the tree city Barbershop in Greensburg Indiana. Please pray for her and the children.
