Christians Say the Darnedest Things: Women are Weak, Emotional, and Easily Deceived by Lori Alexander

women-weaker-vesselAs we know from the Bible, women are the weaker sex (1 Peter 3:7) and are more easily deceived (1 Timothy 2:14). We allow our emotions to control some of our life and decisions. This is why God has said that women are not to teach nor be in authority over men (1 Timothy 2:12). God made women and men differently for the different purposes He has created them for. He has created women to get married, bear children, and guide the home (1 Timothy 5:14 and Titus 2:4, 5).

The reason women are flocking to Jesus Calling and many of the female Bible teachers and writers is because they appeal to their emotional nature. Women love to feel things. If they don’t feel in love with their husbands, they will often divorce them to find another man they might feel in love with. They may not even feel that they love one of their children but they must regardless of their feelings. Women love to feel emotional over the Lord and His Word. I am not saying this is wrong but it shouldn’t be our goal. Our goal should be to obey the Lord by doing what He has clearly told us to do in His Word without depending upon our emotions to lead us.
….
Since we know we are the weaker vessel and easily deceived, it is all the more reason to be in the Word daily and be led by the perfect will of God, no longer allowing our emotions to run and ruin our lives. If you want God to speak to you personally, as Justin Peter said, “Dear ones, if you want to hear God speak to you, there’s one way I can guarantee you that you will hear God speak, read your Bible. If you want to hear God speak to you audibly, read it out loud. I promise you, I promise you, you’ll hear Him speak.”

“Since we know we are the weaker vessel and easily deceived…”
Well, Lori, once you start down that path you end up a wonderful and odedient wife. We have all sinned but we added the stuff about the weaker vessel to put you down and help you know God. It worked, right? You are an evil woman who blogs when she should be baking, washing HIS clothes, dusting twice a day and so forth… But God said… All your kids are grown up and perfect clones in faith? Wicked, just plain wicked.
And Lori, emotions can be dictators indeed. Look at your self-hatred! We are free to feel as human beings and it is most important that our feelings be honored and respected, respected by the self and by others close to us. What nonsense you spout about us, that we should not follow our human feelings, that we are weaker as women. What trash! How did this big wreck of a life happen to you, Lori? Were you very young when the got you? Quote me some scripture if that is all that is left of you but don’t bother posting it, please.

The first paragraph were exactly the arguments that were used to explain why women weren’t allowed leadership roles in our church: they were too emotional. Never mind many of the guys being either pretty sentimental or pretty angry or passionate and not in control of their temper. Women would explain the Bible emotionally instead of logically and then there was Eve and the serpent as well…

It made me angry as it was all based on nonsense, but, of course, the Bible and the men were the ones in charge. I kept saying it was sexist and mean and that would upset my parents as I was going against the Bible. You see it couldn’t be sexist and mean when God had ordained it himself… and when men and women followed Him in this that was just being a good Christian.

Today she has up a lovely piece on how true ladies never fart or belch. But she cannot say words like ‘passing gas’ or ‘flatulence’ and uses ‘toot’ instead. Also, it’s a sin to stick your tongue out. No lie!

I’ve told my wife that in the US women don’t fart, belch, or s..t.

She says that actually women do these things (surprise!) but men advertise them.

Respectfully, I believe the tongue may briefly flung forth privately with/for spouses providing they have been duly cautioned by Reverend Doug Wilson and have explained in detail just what they intend to do with their tongues and later, in fine detail, just exactly what they actually did… Reverend Wilson is good at this sort of counsel and is led by a big library, I believe. I am not sure but this particular counselling might be searchable by entering the query, Speaking in Tongues with Doug… 😉
In any other use, the tongue is a vile thing untameable and rotten to core like all of us were when we were Christianly and the preacher told us what scum we were.

Gullibility is a learned behavior and not a default setting in women or in anybody.
Babies and young children learn to implicitly trust their parents and do not doubt anything. When they take this gullible mindset out into the world and get burned a few times they quickly wise up. As far as women being too emotional, I have learned that if one bases their decisions on emotion alone with no regard for reason, they are in for a lot of trouble. Any thinking(yes, thinking not feeling)woman knows this.
