Christians Say the Darnedest Things: Can You Be Raped by the Devil?

magic mike demons
Magic Mike. Hot men or demons from hell?

As bizarre as it sounds, those who minister to people in occult bondage say it’s more common than you think. Possession

For nearly two decades, Contessa Adams felt as though she had no power against the demonic violators of her body. She felt trapped in secrecy and shame and knew that the demons tormenting her wanted things to stay that way.

But God had another agenda for Adams when she found Christ in 1979. The former stripper has a ministry through which she exposes one of Satan’s darkest secrets—sexual demons.

These spiritual rapists [rape is all about violence and power, not pleasure] , as Adams describes them in her book, Consequences, often prey on people by performing sexual acts through nightmares and erotic dreams. Some people become so dependent upon these demonic experiences that they actually look forward to them.

“Anybody that has been attacked by them will tell you … they’re worried [that] they could not find that pleasure with mortal people,” says Adams, who claims she was once possessed by sexual demons.

The two most identifiable sexual demons are the incubus, which is a male sexual demon that traditionally assaults women, and the succubus, which is a female sexual demon that assaults men. Sometimes they also lure people into homosexual behavior.

Adams notes that one evangelist, whose name she would not divulge, was so troubled by the sexual pleasure the succubus gave her that she even contemplated suicide.

Adams says the succubus spirit that used to attack her confused her so much that she contemplated becoming a lesbian.

“Unless you’re strong enough [oh Lord Jesus, PLEASE let me be weak!] to rebuke it, they’ll keep coming back,” she says. “You must speak the Word of God, knowing you have power in the name of Jesus.”

Eddie Smith, the president of U.S. Prayer Track and a respected leader in deliverance ministry, believes that experiences like Adams’ are common. He and his wife, Alice, have ministered to “at least hundreds” of people suffering from demonic sexual attacks.

….

Adams believes the most valuable tool against these sexual demons is based on Matthew 12:44, which speaks of when a demon is cast out and then looks to return, but finds the house is clean, swept and in order. People must have their houses in order so that a demon can no longer gain entrance, Adams says. It is a part of the reprogramming process that takes place when an individual submits his or her life to God.

….

Adams says: “Fear is their forerunner. If you get paralyzed by fear, they actually will come and rape you. But if you draw near to God, Satan has to flee. Satan’s job is to suggest that you not draw near to God, so that he does not have to flee.”

Sounds a lot like Adams was battling homosexuality by blaming her homosexual feelings on Satan. Of course, if it was just her own feelings alone, that would just be inconceivable as a Christian! Glad I don’t have to worry about sin anymore. Over time, it just gets exhausting trying not to be a normal human being.

So, like all Christians, why not just blame something ridiculous on Satan to fit your belief?

Kenneth, I agree with you about the homosexuality thing. Unless you are gay I can hardly conceive of ‘contemplating’ becoming homosexual. This lady has had problems in her life which her religious indoctrination is struggling with. Rather than look at herself as the source of the gratification, it’s so much easier to demonise, literally so to speak, others. But why be ashamed of something that’s perfectly natural?

Christianity or at least the version I grew up in seems to thrive on the blame game. It was never our fault it was satan or demons or someone else. of course everything was black and white when it came to sex. It is no wonder why christians or any other major religion that has strict sexual codes are so dysfunctional.

Cultic Christianity requires and encourages excess even while they preach against it. Vilify the enemy (which is your very flesh) and then obsess over the superhero saviour.

Even when I was a Christian, I didn’t believe that, nor did my denomination as a whole. (Seventh-day Adventist.) Still, there were people at the fringes who might have thought that. But so many people claiming they were suffering from demonic rape. Obviously they needed a good psychiatrist and psychologist/counselor, to get the right diagnoses and therapy and meds. SMDH.

Thats what happens when you think the bible is a science textbook and the end all, be all, for everything life throws at you. Someone somewhere on the internet called it the goatherder’s guide to the galaxy and I couldn’t agree more with that statement.

    Hi Bruce,

Charisma magazine has a propensity for crackpots to write articles ( and many crackpot comments) and there is a continuance of Pentecostal/Charismatic obsession the “demons”.

The big problem is that Fundamentalists believe that Jesus is God and God is omniscient. Since Jesus believed in the existence of demons, so do they. But wasn’t Jesus shaped (at least to some extent) by the culture of the first century Israel, though he was ahead of his time some issues.

The unknown author of Matthew’s Gospel has Jesus say that he did not know the day nor the hour when the Son of Man would return, but only the Father knew. The unknown author of the Gospel of Luke says that Jesus grew in knowledge and wisdom. So they don’t appear to believe in every passage that Jesus was God.

He was ignorant of some things. This ignorance includes a knowledge of demons for whose existence there is no more evidence than for fairies. Jesus can’t be blamed for this, but the church can be. They turned Jesus into a God.

    Shalom,

    John Arthur

The thing is Jesus probably claimed that he had authoritative knowledge of deamons. I don’t think he ever said – I could be wrong about this – regarding anything he taught. When have we ever come across a humble cult leader?

Sexual assaults by demons? And all this time I thought those were called “wet dreams.”

Seriously, this is another example of how the teachings of Christianity – most especially the Evangelical version thereof – can warp a person’s basic understanding of and attitude toward his or her own humanity. The longer I spend viewing Christianity from a disconnected distance, the more I realize how utterly damaging it is.
