Christians Says the Darnedest Things: Lori Alexander Says Women Too Weak to Serve in Military

lori-alexander

Should godly women be in the military, police force, or firefighters? No, godly women should not be in any of these and I will try to explain why I believe this. In the Bible, only men were the ones to go to war and they had to be 20 years old or older. “Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls; From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies” (Numbers 1:2, 3).

Women are the weaker vessel. “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel” (1 Peter 3:7). “The thing which the husband is specially to understand and take into account is that he is dealing with a thing less strong than himself…The weakness here ascribed to the female sex is primarily that of the body, as we shall see when we consider the word ‘vessel,’ though it may, perhaps, indicate frailty in other respects as well.” (Elliot’s Commentary) And I am sure the feminists will love Matthew Poole’s definition of this verse; “weaker than the husbands, and that both in body and mind, as women usually are.”

In past generations, EVERY ONE knew that men are stronger physically and emotionally than women. Men have ten times the testosterone than women do. Yes, men’s struggle is with their sexual nature but women’s struggle is with their emotional nature. Men and women are different. We are not the same. (It’s sad that I even have to write these words.)

….

The Lord instructs husbands to be the head of their wives. “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body” (Ephesians 5:23). They are over them to protect and provide for them. This is God’s perfect plan in marriage and in society; it is the men who are to be the protectors. Being in the military, a firefighter, or policeman takes strength. Unfortunately, feminists have bullied men into women being able fulfill these positions. We are called to be feminine with gentle and quiet spirits. These jobs are all masculine.

Can you even imagine what women in the military who are captured by the enemy must endure? I am sure it is horrible! Women are much more vulnerable and defenseless than men. Women are the ones who are raped. (Yes, some men are being raped today, too, in today’s perverted society but it normally takes several men to do this whereas it only takes one man against one woman to rape a woman.) How about a female police officer caught in the middle of a gang? What if a female firefighter had to drag a 200 pound man down from a second story on a ladder to save his life? Women cannot do this. It is all nonsense.

    Snark alert!

“Women are the weaker vessel.” At least we know that about ourselves: That’s why we stop to ask for directions while the other vessel in the relationship just wanders along blindly.

If Moses had been a woman, she wouldn’t have wandered the desert for 40 years: She’d’ve asked for directions after, oh, about an hour or so!

I’d send this to my Methodist, served in the Army for ten years, and currently a big city ER nurse wife , but I’d actually like to live for a few more years.

Weaker “vessel”… interesting how cults seem to have their own lingo. It is true that men have about 50% more upper body strength. I’d argue that women have a better constitution being homozygous for the X chromosome, with longer life span and some resistance to genetic diseases. (Male zygotes and fetuses tend to be weaker as well.)
As for serving in the military… There *were* good reasons (and there are still some good reasons) for women to not serve. Before the invention of military machinery where everything was horse power and man power, women would be at a disadvantage. The principle reason to have women as non-combatants is the fact that a population can recover better from a large loss in the male population than a large loss in the female population. (From a society’s perspective men are expendable.)
As for women serving, I’m for it (but not female conscription). The distribution for traditionally manly/warrior traits in the female population is significant. Many can serve quite well. The caveat is that I don’t think physical exams should be changed to accommodate women. A modern military which has the benefit of modern hardware women can hold their own quite well. Having a woman’s perspective is valuable in any institution (consider how much the Catholic church would be improved for example) and the military is no exception. Of course the Bible says to exclude women, the Bible is not a modern book and can make no accommodation to modern circumstances.
The unwritten benefit of females serving in the military (at least in the U.S.) is that we have an all volunteer army, no one who doesn’t want to go (like me) has to go.

My dad preached on Sunday and did a peayer meeting on Wednesday eve.
My mom bore six kids, one with severe deficits and worked as an RN to pay our bills. Dad got a pittance from the church each week and mom brought in the bacon. She also did the majority of the house chores and was available for her kids.
Lori Alexander is a pathetic creature with a need to avoid to her issues.

Pardon what is most likely going to be considered crude, but it must be said. While it is true that men and women differ in several ways and are also similar in more ways than Lori would like to admit, I never seen a man have his dick dilate to ten centimeters and then have a living baby emerge from said dick. Even though I will never have to go through childbirth for obvious reasons, I have heard that it is probably one of the most painful and traumatic experiences any person can go through. Weaker vessel my ass, I’m calling bs.
