The Sounds of Fundamentalism: IFB Preacher Keith Gomez Says Democrats are Demonic

pastor keith gomez

The Sounds of Fundamentalism is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section.  Let’s have some fun!

Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a video clip of sermon by Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (IFB) preacher Keith Gomez, pastor of Northwest Bible Baptist Church and president of Providence Baptist College, both in Elgin, Illinois.

When I traveled to many other countries, then I understood why some Americans are perceived as a$$holes. The arrogance displayed by some Americans is really embarrassing.

Since living overseas for a time seems to help the brainwashed American psyche, I have long suggested it to people, older Canadians too! Just go somewhere and stay there for awhile, not in a resort isolated from people but among another culture. You will soon be freed of long-held and long-unconscious ignorance and fear. You will see that we are people, just people with cultural baggage from wherever. You will not be able to experience that pure ‘ol Amurkan xenophobia again without being disgusted with yourself. You will not desire to hate any other race. You will see what racism has been and is now…
It just happens over time. Give it a chance. It might have changed Donald Trump if he had been able to do it as a young man… yes, even the Donald. But it clearly did not happen. And it didn’t happen for the hater for Jesus, Pastor Gomez. He sounds delusional and stupid and is puffed up and proud of his virus. Why he heads up a school for it! Oh for a vaccine…! Christian, dare to walk out of your conviction bubble for a short time and let the sun rise on a new life, on a reclaimed being…. (Wow, I should go preaching downtown, huh?)

I agree with both of you, Obstacle Chick and Brian. I lived in another country and have traveled a bit, never staying in resorts or other tourist traps. I can say that my experiences have cured me of the notion that other people in this world would prosper if only they would do what we do.

The problem is, when you try to explain, for example, that people in other places do some things differently because of their circumstances, people who haven’t spent time abroad–or are simply ignoramuses–just won’t get it. Moreover, sometimes they don’t want to.

Wow, the sheer ignorance, insults and stupid just amaze me. I have the speaking and writing skills to craft good presentations, what stops me from doing this, is unlike this dude I have ethics and morals and refuse to seek unbelievable BS.

Working on my end. Just checked it on Twitter too. The link below the Tweet, however, is broken. Some of these preachers are quite aggressive with take-down/copyright requests. The man who posts these clips typically ignores or fights take-down requests. What are these preachers afraid of? ?

Dang, I just sent in my primary ballot, and I went Democratic for the first time in my life. This preacher is nothing less than an idolater. He worships the GOP and his version of America.
