This is the latest installment in the Songs of Sacrilege series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. Lyrics

Hahahaha
Ohh Devin, won’t go to heaven
She’s just another lost soul about to be mine again
Leave her, we will receive her

It is beyond your control, will you ever meet again?
Devin, no longer living
Who had been rendered unwhole as a little child
She was taken and then forsaken

You will remember it all, let it blow your mind again
Devin lies beyond this portal

Take the word of one immortal
Give your soul to me for eternity
Release your life to begin another time with her
End your grief with me, there’s another way

Release your life, take your place inside the fire with her
Sever, now and forever
You’re just another lost soul about to be mine again
See her? you’ll never free her

You must surrender it all if you’d like to meet again
Fire, all you desire
As she begins to turn cold and run out of time
You will shiver, ’til you deliver

You will remember it all, let it blow your mind again
Devin lies beyond this portal

Take the word of one immortal
Give your soul to me for eternity
Release your life to begin another time with her
End your grief with me, there’s another way

Release your life, take your place inside the fire with her
Give your soul to me for eternity
Release your life to begin another time with her
End your grief with me, there’s another way
Release your life, take your place inside the fire with her
Ooh Devin, no longer living
Who had been rendered unwhole as a little child
She was taken and then forsaken
You will remember it all, let it blow your mind again

I played their ” Sound of Silence” for my dead friend often, along with “So Far Away”. They sure nail grief down. And “Medicate”, by Theory of A Dead Man epitomizes my once beloved So Cal ever so well.

First, David Draiman is Jewish and still follows the religion. One thing you will notice is that he has no tattoos (against Judaism). “Inside the Fire” is about a girl’s suicide (true story by the way from his teen years. She loved him, he didn’t love her, she was an addict and wanted her to get help. Her father blamed David for her death.) and the belief that doing that will get you a one way ticket to Hell. So I don’t see how it’s a sacrilege. Unless you don’t like the fact that he’s Jewish. If I’m not mistaken the Bible calls them God’s chosen people.

Well that is EXACTLY what this song means according to David Draiman as he has stated in many interviews. So since he wrote it, performs it, owns it, and has said many, many times what it means, I don’t think it’s open for interpretation by anyone except him. I am surprised no one has submitted Marylin Manson’s SAY10 because it is completely misunderstood too. Some people think it’s about him actually worshipping Satan, and he is actually speaking to people who make Gods of celebrities, musicians, and politicians, especially Donald Trump. It is saying that people look at them and see God, but he only sees Satan. Again, stated by HIM in an interview, and people read the lyrics and make automatic assumptions. He has been declared by many to be one of the most intelligent philosophers of our time, compared to Friedrich Nietzsche over and over. It’s a sh

Okay. Not sure why this issue is so important to you. You’ve said your piece, but this series remains a reader driven series. Not sure what else to tell you. As far as Draiman being one of the greatest philosophers of our time — comparable to Nietzsche? I’ll leave that claim to others to evaluate.

Sorry, dropped my phone and somehow submitted it. Many of Manson’s songs ARE open for interpretation because he feels he should leave you with a question mark not an answer, but he talked about Say10. But David Draiman felt guilty for years and felt he deserved to be with her in death. Writing this was his way of letting the guilt go once and for all. So whoever submitted it, hate to burst their bubble.

Yes, I have read him. And Manson’s lyrics are much like his words. I was not the first person to compare them. Many people have said it over the years. I didn’t make a connection until I read something about it in a music editorial, then started to see it in other publications, so I did some thinking, started to really dig into Manson’s lyrics and I have to agree. Very Nietzce-esque. He and Tyler Bates are brilliant writers.
