Yesterday, I received the following comment from an Evangelical man named Brian Passmore (all grammar in the original):
God have mercy on your soul you have left the Open Arms of Jesus to ridicule and work as a Satanist we all will pay for our crimes and perhaps you more than many because of how you reached people with your satanistic approach to the world and May Jesus have mercy on you and how about you inspect your own life and put your own life out there the way that you have tried to dissect other people’s lives dissect your own life and you might see somebody very empty and without a soul because your soul has been captured by The Dark One the demon Satan it seems that Beelzebub owns you now get on your knees and ask for forgiveness I pray you have left God as our God never leaves anyone we leave him dot-dot…… think about that!!!!!!!!!
According to Passmore:
- I ridicule God/Jesus/Christians
- I am a Satanist
- I have a “satanistic” approach to the world
- I will receive harsher punishment in Hell due to how many people I reach with this blog
- The Dark One/Satan/Beezlebub owns and controls me
Passmore read all of one post, Black Collar Crime: Kent Hovind Arrested on Domestic Assault Charges, before determining I am a Satanist. Passmore seems to miss the fact that I am an atheist. Thus, I don’t believe in the existence of the Christian God, or any other deities, for that matter. If I think God is a myth, it stands to reason that I believe Satan is a myth too. The same goes for having a “soul.” Sorry, I am a material being, no soul required for operation.

Mr. Passmore is clearly nuts. More importantly, how did I miss that post about Kent Hovind?? That weirdo came to the museum where I used to work and filmed a video about how our exhibit about dragons and dinosaurs (suggesting that legends of dragons were based on findings of dinosaur fossils) actually PROVED that dinosaurs existed during biblical times. Not sure how he filmed it without being spotted and asked to leave–as a children’s museum, they weren’t too keen on people filming stuff in crowded galleries without permission. Sorry but not surprised to hear that ol’ Kent is a domestic abuser as well as a science denier.
Well, that was certainly a massive run-on sentence. I like the utterly unsupported assumption that you haven’t dissected your own life. And I’m really curious about how Beelzebub captures souls like that. Ethereal handcuffs? Astral prison bars? Maybe some sort of spiritual fish hook? (Baited with PORN and FREE THINKING I guess…)

Plus, this man gets upset when you are pointing out the crimes of Kent Hovind. Something wrong with people who defend criminals just because they are preachers.

I always find it amusing when Christians call current or former Christians Satanists as if that’s the ultimate pejorative term they can think of. I don’t support theism or religions of any sort, but Christians may benefit from following a few of the commandments in the satanic bible, namely:
1) Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked
3) When in another’s lair (one can assume this extends to online “lairs”), show him respect or else do not go there.
While we’re at it, Christians could also keep themselves out of trouble by taking heed of the satanic prohibitions on stealing, making unwanted sexual advances, or harming children.
I can think of worse labels than Satanist.
I realize this may be construed as unsolicited advice and opinions, but in my defence, I’m an atheist rather than a Satanist. I’m also an equal opportunity anti-religionist, so if Christians can quote their religious texts, I figure I can quote the opposition’s.
Aw bless his little heart. Someone please enroll this person in a grammar class. I really cannot take someone seriously who cares not a whit about proper communication skills.
