Christians Say the Darnedest Things: Democrats Killed Jesus and Should be Excommunicated From Evangelical Churches

demoncrats

As I’ve written and pressed on this matter repeatedly, voting Democrat is a very likely indicator that one has not been born again. The argument goes: God isn’t a Democrat or a Republican, so it doesn’t really matter. Well, quite frankly, that’s just stupid. No Christian in their right mind would argue that God is a politician. But God does have a moral law that he expects Christians to uphold and the Democratic party was fundamentally designed to oppose it.

The Democratic party, at its core, is radically opposed to the standard of morality set forth in Scripture. Whether it be the continual expansion of the slaughtering of innocent children in the womb, the clamoring for the promotion of homosexuality and other forms of sexual perversions, including feminism, or the insistent push for redistributive theft, it goes without saying that everything the Democrat party stands for is biblically immoral. Jesus did not die for these things, he died because of these things–to free us from them.

….

So let’s spell this out for those who aren’t getting it: This means you cannot be a Christian while supporting the slaughter of innocent children, gay rights, gay propaganda, “gay Christianity,” theft (redistribution of wealth), lawlessness (i.e. open borders), a complete and total lack of individual responsibility (i.e. nanny state welfare system, single-payer insurance, etc.), or the endless sweeping away of our right to worship God freely. If you support this godless ideology, or support candidates that do, don’t expect me to treat you as a fellow Christian.

Saw your video interview. Are you certain that blogging wouldn’t be easier ?!? It would add a little more realism to it. Have a pulpit and a church door behind you as a prop. I think you would be great. Make sure the church door prop is open. At the end of your “sermon”, turn and close the door. You’re preaching outside the church now. Closing the door says you are finished with what goes on inside but you are not finished preaching the truth. And call them sermons. You’re good at that are you not ?!? Just saying …

“[D]on’t expect me to treat you as a fellow Christian.”

I am an atheist . So perhaps my question will reveal that I am not understanding something : How can a person make such a threat and call himself a Christian?

I don’t think I support a single thing this guy says, and even his reference to lawlessness means something different than it does to me. For one, I’d support taking his guns away.

Ultimately this is a useful inverse summary of everything that decent people should be striving for.

Funny you should say that: I was thinking the same thing. Even after I became an atheist, affirmed my gender identity and moved to the left of about 98 percent of the Democratic Party, I could occasionally agree with Billy Graham and,
on rarer occasions , with Fundifascists like Pat Buchanan. (He’s what I think of as a Fundicatholic.) But this “Dissenter” has me dissenting with everything he says. That’s a feat, I think,

The lead commentator at “The Dissenter” is named Ed Dingess. My inner 13 year old is annoyed at being repressed about making fun of his name. “The Dissenter” used to be known as Reformation Charlotte and is a follower traveler with Protestia’s JD Hall. These guys are hard core complementarionists. Which must explain why Dingess thinks feminism is a sexual perversion. I’m still amazed that there are men who have to treat women as properly.

Tax fairness is not “theft”. Having rich capitalists insist that I finance their sports stadiums for the honor of paying a “seat fee” along with the crazy ticket costs to then pay $ 10 for a beer to attend a live sports game is somehow normal in his eyes, and the county covering healthcare for worker at that stadium being paid below minimum wage is called “redistribution of wealth” is nuts.

Community is a dirty word for fascists like Dingess.

Good research, SJL. I’ll look up this Ed Dingess. He sounds dingy, a ding- dong. The ” Social Justice Gospel,” while not THE actual Gospels, in itself it makes sense in some ways, because it led to reforms. Like child labor laws, among other things.

It’s interesting how thoroughly effective the marriage between the Christian right and the GOP became in shaming, indoctrinating, and solidifying a voter block became. Of course, there are other members of the GOP who aren’t part of the Christian right, but most of those ardent supporters are just as authoritarian as the religious right and make complementary bedfellows.
