I am supporting the speaker and let me say, if, you know, I hear from President Donald Trump, who I do speak with relatively regularly and I have a relationship with him, to the contrary, that would change my mind.
Let me say this, I’m a very independent person. So, I get it. I get it. Members of Congress want to express their individual viewpoint, ’We’re a coequal branch of government, etc, etc… but there was a mandate from the people of the United States of America in both the popular vote and the electoral vote to make change.

Oh we can BET He ” has a mandate!”. He was given his marching orders from the Koch brothers and ALEC, and now I heard about Article V, which is regarding the Constitution being rewritten via the ” Convention of States. It’s on Yahoo News, Alternet, and the NYT, among others. If that happens, kiss the First Amendment goodbye!

Yulya, hopefully there isn’t yet enough interest in the convention of states that you’re talking about, but, then again, I didn’t think we would get into the awful mess we’re entering again with a 2nd Trump term. I never thought Roe v Wade would be overturned causing the deaths and harm of so many women.
Having traveled to other countries, it’s clear that USA is no “shining beacon on a hill”. Yes, many of us have it better than people in some other countries do, but we certainly aren’t the penultimate.
Trump’s promises have a mandate, you know the promises to fix the inflation he caused. Does his social conservative religious agenda have a mandate? No, abortion rights has won in every state it was on the ballot. None of the project 2025 heritage foundation nonsense has a mandate, he ran from it. But that is, of course, what we’re going to get. The old used car salesman pig in a poke switcharoo.
