Well, all of the fiercely Trump-supporting denizens of Ney and nearby areas are no doubt thrilled to think that Walmart would “eat” the tariffs. Here’s the problem. Prices are still higher, so less of a given item will be sold. Eventually people will have to be laid off, because Walmart is selling less and its profits are so much lower. But let Trump prevail–the idiocy of tariffs cannot be questioned because they have issued from the bowels of our fearless leader.
