   Recently my sister held a memorial Mass for our mom. While the Mass was being celebrated I couldn’t help but look at the priest and his adult male assistants and wonder if any of them are secretly doing terrible things to the children and youth in their orbit. The Black Collar Crime series has made me much more aware that this sort of thing happens all the time. 😢

     Churches here in rural Wales don’t get out and about much doing evangelism, they’re too weak, mainly die-hard elderly folk. However a fundy church from the next town from us**, has put bibles through doors this year. That’s so rare, that on our local FB page, someone said a bible they hadn’t ordered had arrived, it wasn’t theirs. but wanted the right owner to receive it, did anyone know to whom it belonged – she had to be told everyone in the street got one. Then other parts of the town got a different one claiming to be ‘A North Wales Version’. That was posted on FB too – and out of a staggering 74 comments, most said it had gone straight into the bin. The mainstream media here has been full of the resignation of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the called-for resignation of the 2nd head-honcho, the Archbishop of York for covering up paedophile priests for decades. IOW, almost the last shreds of all churches’ credibility have gone, here. Who’d want to join anything remotely ressembling a church with their record of horrific child abuse and cover ups?
     ** I recall the pastor of the baptist church here calling the baptist pastor of that next-town church, telling him and his sheeple to get of his lawn when, some years ago, his flock put tracts through our doors telling us their church was the only True Church in the area and worth travelling to above local ones!!! Seems their arroagance continues!

   And this is just the tip of the iceberg. How many others are undiscovered or unreported. How many spirit filled Christians have inflicted indescribable pain on people who have trusted them and their Jesus? How much further proof is needed that there is no all loving god that directs his believers in the path of righteousness and delivers them from evil. Yet believers continue to deny the reality of these acts or rationalize them to protect their invisible friend.
