This is the single most important economic issue of the day — this is pass/fail. If we do not fix these tax cuts, if we do not renew and extend, then we will be facing an economic calamity and, as always with financial instability, that falls on the middle and working-class people.
We will see a gigantic middle-class tax increase. We will see a child tax credit cap. We will see the deductions halved … it has the potential for a sudden stop. And, as I said, traditionally with these sudden stops, it falls on working Americans.

Research has shown that “trickle-down” economics didn’t work. It widened the gap between the billionaires and everyone else without benefit to everyone else.
But of course GOP adherents don’t trust research.

Let’s say thanks a billion to all the wealthy people for trickling down on us needy dependent working class stiffs. The less billionaires pay in taxes the more money the government collects and the lower the deficit. Never mind that this is logically incoherent, mathematically impossible, and and a bald faced insulting lie. It’s a matter of faith. don’t you see? You must believe that “Less is more”.
And that’s why the GOP loves religious people. They are by definition willing and capable of belief in whatever their faith leaders tell them to believe. Never mind that trickle down economics is not only irrational but has been repeatedly proven to be fantasy. It’s about faith.
No wonder people of the Trump class believe in their hearts that we rank and file humans are here for their use, their consumption, and their very nourishment. They’ll take offense at the proposition that it’s cannibalistic thinking but it is what it is.
I call it “leaky bladder economics” because it pisses on poor and working people.
