How in the hell has a congressman from Maryland been losing to Donald Trump for years? They’ve never run against each other. He’s probably jealous of the fact that Jamie Raskin is wicked smart (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Harvard, editor of Harvard Law Review) and also was manager of the second impeachment.
Carol, it belabors the obvious, but nothing Trump says has any particular meaning. It’s sound and fury. It plays into his strategy to assign any rationality to his utterances. Like a nuisance barking dog, the noise is annoying and not informative.
One thing that might also come into play with some of the ire directed at Raskin along with the nonsense of Trump wanting the Nobel Peace Prize is that the January 6 Committee has actually been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize n 2025.
It’s difficult to imagine any world leader who can behave in a less dignified way than Trump. He embarrasses decent Americans. Those who aren’t embarrassed are part of the problem. I’m slowly recognising that the worst kind of dictator isn’t the one who defeats his opponents via a military coup, it’s the one who is democratically elected in the first place
