kevin swanson

This is the forty-fourth installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section.  Let’s have some fun!

Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a clip from a sermon preached by Kevin Swanson, an Orthodox Presbyterian Church minister.

    Hi Bruce,

Kevin Swanson’s call for governments to apply the the death penalty to those engaged in same-sex sexual relationships shows how out of touch he is with community sentiment and how lacking he is in compassion and loving kindness when is applies to these persons.

Fundamentalist fanatics like Swanson continue to build up hatred and intolerance among their followers based on their authoritarian views of the bible: a book which has over 600 passages of violence in the OT, among which is the ancient and barbaric view that includes Israel’s violent god’s hatred towards and execution of homosexuals.

The crucial problem is that people like Swanson think that their religious text is God breathed and to be obeyed, rather than a human text which promotes barbaric values which need to be firmly rejected.

Bruce, you are doing a wonderful job on your website exposing these fanatics and their view of a God-inspired, inerrant text.

    Peace and well-being to you,

    John Arthur

Interesting. I met him in person when he came to Victoria, Australia. A few years ago. He has a brother who is gay. He may of mentioned it a couple of times in his sermon, but was very discreet about it. So is he calling for the execution of his own brother? 🤔
