This is the twenty-seventh installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section. Let’s have some fun!
Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a clip taken from a sermon preached by Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Evangelist Phil Kidd.
Oh, yeah! Proud liberal here!
But wait! We’ve had a non-liberal presidential candidate that we could choose based on their moral values? I missed that one.
And yes, I am appalled at some things that are on prime time television. Like Fox News.
This guy must be having conniptions over Bernie Sanders.
Guess I’m a liberal then. *shrug*
He says that like being a liberal is a bad thing! LOL
I remember so well singing the Sunday School ditty, On Door and Only one. When I listen to rabid bullies like this scream at us, I sure hope that door is a thick one and I stay well on the outside.
I laugh at a lot of this stuff, because, well, what else can you do? But this is really not funny. This guy’s thoughts are very widespread, they are based on bitter hatred, and they will not go away regardless of who wins this next election. We will keep on hearing these things and fighting this battle, and to one degree or another it spells our doom.
Wow. Seems like for this clown Kingdom of God = America under Republican government.
Isn’t his job to teach Christians the bible not rant about his own political predudices.
Exactly what I thought. How horrible it would be to have to listen to his “sermons” week after week. Just hatred and anger, nothing positive or loving here, no bible lessons. “If what I just said makes you ANGRY…your are a liberal!!” It didn’t make me angry, not at all. Freaked out and sick feeling, yes….and worried about the influence of people like this in our country.
I support almost everything he stated it means to be a liberal but, wow, when was this guy released from the asylum!
I still can’t get my head round the logic that says abortion is wrong, yet capital punishment and gun ownership are good. As a matter of personal opinion I’m not morally against the death penalty, but I absolutely oppose it solely on the grounds that it is impossible, without exception, for it to be exercised fairly.
