Melquisedec Chan, pastor of Vida Abundante Church in Alton, Texas and a medical doctor in Mexico, stands accused of sedating women and then sexually assaulting them. Chan is a surgeon in Mexico, but he is not licensed to practice medicine in Texas. Chan has been charged with “aggravated sexual assault and practicing medicine without a license.” The church’s website is now password protected and its social media pages have been disabled.

According to The Monitor, police believe that Chan may have committed this crime before. Predators such as Chan often have long histories of criminal behavior.
