Tony Shaw, pastor of Ruby Valley Baptist Church in Sheridan, Montana, stands accused of sexually assaulting a teen church girl. Ruby Valley is an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (IFB) congregation.

The Montana Standard reports:

Authorities say a pastor at Ruby Valley Baptist Church in Sheridan had inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl in the basement of the church.

They arrested Tony Aaron Shaw, 55, on a felony complaint of sexual assault on Tuesday and he was taken to the Gallatin County jail, where he later posted $75,000 bond and was released.

Shaw, contacted by telephone, told The Montana Standard on Thursday that the allegation “had to do with how someone perceived something” and was false.

“It was nothing,” he said.

….

According to the complaint, someone performing work at the church witnessed Shaw having inappropriate contact with the girl in the basement of the church. Sheriff’s officials say they had received a prior sexual assault complaint involving Shaw.

If it was nothing then how come The child mentioned above along with her younger sister had to go and still are going through severe therapy because of the trauma? How come they both know what sexual relations are? How many other children were there? Because this guy was a foster parent… So I have a hard time believing that it’s only happened to just this girl in her younger sibling.

Of course he’s going to say “it was nothing” they always do. Check out his FB acct and I’m not a Therapist but I see many red flags in his pictures and comments. The little girl sitting on his lap looks very uncomfortable sitting close to him and him touching her as if she is being forced to sit there. And the cheesy grin on his face compared to expression on the poor little girls. Please tell me CPS has removed from the home the 2 young girls who appear to be in age range of 7 and 14 on his FB account?

I’m actually curious to know how many children will eventually come forward. He was a foster parent not just a pastor. The basement of the church is where he took children for their punishment. His wife claims that she did not know what was happening but knew that he was always the one to give punishment for bad behavior.

The story is very vague and has a lot of gaps. First and foremost Tony Shaw was not only the pastor of the church but also a foster parent to many children. The child mentioned above is not the only victim. She has a younger sister. The church basement was where Tony would take the children for “punishments” when they didn’t behave or speak a certain way to his likings. Immediately following the discovery of the worker during the older siblings punishment, both children were immediately removed and put into care of a local respite family’s care where the children began severe therapy due to the trauma. The older sister would later be moved out of the respite home due to mental problems stemming from the trauma and further treatment. The younger sister would go on to be adopted by the respite family. In June of 2024, Tony went to trial where after a 2 day deliberation the jury came back as a hung jury. Which would mean a brand new trial for the case.
