Satan is not just trying to silence the next generation. He is seeking to wipe it out, declaring an all-out war on our children. They are being slaughtered in the womb. They are being kidnapped and sold into sex slavery. They are being raped and abused and neglected and used. They are being brainwashed by their teachers and bullied by their peers. They are lost and lonely, depressed and suicidal. They cut themselves and kill themselves. Their innocence is being robbed, and their security is being stolen.
….
So to every demonic spirit who is dead set on destroying our children, we say, “Take your hands off our kids! They belong to us, not to you, and you will not destroy their lives. We declare this together in Jesus’ name!” Then, in the sight of God, pledge yourself afresh to be the guardians of your children. Your words must be backed by your actions.
We must not downplay the urgency of the hour. The matter is grave, and we cannot underestimate the intensity of the battle. We must be tenacious in God if we are to win the war for our children.

Brown: [Our children] are being slaughtered in the womb.
Karen: Like the medical establishment, I differentiate between a fetus and a child, but there’d be a whole lot fewer abortions if women could easily get and afford good birth control, something very much objected to by many Evangelicals and conservative Catholics.
Brown: They are being kidnapped and sold into sex slavery.
Karen: It happens, but far, far less frequently than you want people to think, because you’re using this as a talking point to get people riled up, without good suggestions for dealing with it.
Brown: They are being raped and abused and neglected and used.
Karen: Yes. Much more likely in authoritarian situations where a kid won’t be believed if they come forward.
Brown: They are being brainwashed by their teachers and bullied by their peers.
Karen: Yes, some science teachers in public schools don’t actually believe the fundamental tenets of modern biology…because they conflict with Creationist nonsense. That’s what you meant by brainwashing, wasn’t it? As regards bullying, that IS a serious problem, but it sure as heck isn’t a new one. Very, very gradually, it is dawning on schools that they need to do something about it.
Brown: They are lost and lonely, depressed and suicidal. They cut themselves and kill themselves. Their innocence is being robbed, and their security is being stolen.
Karen: Yes. I have my own opinions about why this is such a problem, but it is at least partly because so many parents must struggle so hard in the US oligarchy to make ends meet. Our society doesn’t support giving parents time to parent.
Every one of thse “Satanic” situations is caused by human beings. Demons need not apply, we can mess it up just fine all on our own.
Karen, so right, we don’t need demons for any of this. Just a certain governor who thinks he can score points by threatening transgender children and their parents, demonizing them, with anti-transgender legislation before an election. Sad.
hmmm, seems like Christians are the ones responsible for everything in that first paragraph.
What Karen said!
Also, how about you talk to the clergy from Bruce’s Black Collar Crime series and tell them to stop grooming, abusing, and molesting kids?
Yes to all in the above. And until organized Christianity actually opposed child abuse in general, they sound hollow and illegitimate in their protests.
All of the above–Thank you. Few things make my blood roil for longer than hearing some Fundangelical blame secularists, humanists, atheists and anyone else who doesn’t believe in their nonsense for child abuse and other kinds of exploitation and brutality. Since I started guest-posting on this blog, I’ve talked to a number of other people who were sexually molested or abused by “respected” adult authority figures. All of them, like me, were abused or molested (or sexually assaulted as adults) by someone who has some sort of authority, be it organizational, political or religious, vested in them. And I would venture that the majority–again, like me–were abused by clergy members or other leaders of their faith institutions.
Now, as for this dude talking about “war”: He wouldn’t know one if the missile cone was pointed at his gluteus maximus. I’d bet that, like most Fundangelicals, he doesn’t think that what Putain, I mean Putin, is doing in the Ukraine is actually a war–or, if it is, it’s justified. (It also wouldn’t surprise me if neither he, nor most of his ilk, never served in the Armed Forces.)
