Christine Geiger, the Christian owner of Studio 8 Hair Lab in Traverse City, Michigan, had this to say about cutting the hair of transgender people.
I wonder if this is what Jesus would do (WWJD)? I doubt it. Ugly, hateful Christianity at its best. I hear Dr. David Tee gets his hair cut at Geiger’s salon.

Thing is, so called Christian folk weren’t tolerant of transgender people. Transgender people were so fearful of their Christian ‘neighbours’ that they couldn’t openly come out. Society has started to move on in fits and starts, leading to transgender people becoming much more accepted, but clearly this is a long way from being universal. So when this person implies that they’ve been tolerant of transgender people over the years but now are reacting to ‘wokeness’ I say ‘bullshit’, you weren’t being tolerant, you simply could pretend it didn’t exist. As for pronouns, I’ve got one for the hair stylist: ‘it’. ‘It’ is a living example of that old saying “to those accustomed to privilege equality appears as oppression “.
Gotta find some way to suffer for gods sake. Do you know how hard it is to do that in the states?
She may find that trans people are not as fearful and unprepared as she suspects. Gender queer people have faced this bigotry for decades, and faced it from every part of life. We understand the vitriol and hatred and loathing these small minded people display.
And no, they never left us alone. They simply thought they did not know anyone who was trans or gender queer. Now we are more visible.
And yes, we only want to be left alone to live our lives and live them openly, just like this woman is allowed to live her life and display her bigotry and hatred openly.
Equality doesn’t require her or anyone else to give up anything other than their ability to control others and force them to conform. Equality means I get the same rights as she does, you know, like going to the bathroom or walking down the street unaccosted or finding jobs or simply existing.
Christine—I am a trans woman. My family are all cisgender. Before they came to the US, they lived in Europe and the Middle East.
Their ancestors, as best as I can tell, included all manner of gender identities and sexual proclivities. Before they migrated to Europe and the Middle East, they lived in Africa. And, yes, before they were recognizably human, they were monkeys.
My family, it seems, picked up where yours left off.
Excuse me, but I have things to do—including an appointment with my hairdresser. She tells me other women wish they had my hair.
I guess the only good thing about someone being openly explicit in their bigotry is that everyone is aware of who to avoid. It does suck that SCOTUS collectively have given people an out to discriminate as long as they can claim a deity made them do it.
GeoffT is correct that these folks whose privilege is challenged are acting like they’re being oppressed when in reality, as Sage stated, people just want to exist without being harassed or treated as pariahs.
well, christine does show that she’s nothing more than a hateful cultist. Poor dear, just ever so “christian”.
