They say separation between church and state … I said, ‘All right, let’s forget about that for one time.
They said, really there’s separation. I don’t know. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’m not sure, but whether there’s separation or not, you guys [Evangelical Christians] are in the White House where you should be, and you’re representing our country, and we’re bringing religion back to our country, and it’s a big deal.
— President Donald Trump, as reported by Politico

Recent Evangelical prayer meeting at the White House

I grew up hardcore Evangelical (a cult actually). I began deconstruction in 2015. Even then I thought Trump was a joke, but my family loved him. I was super confused about EVERYTHING I was ever taught and still warned them Trump was just out for what he could get. Radio silence. They’re still Trumpsters to this day.
I’m still unsure how I got out. I was the most indoctrinated, most subservient, easiest to manipulate of all. Maybe because I was forced to make my own way in life. I still see things in black and white though. Ugh. If only therapy were cheaper.
Wow. It’s amazing how hard it is for this moron to string together a coherent thought. How the hell is this the best we can do at selecting someone to run the country? 🫤
Trump, Evangelicals are in the White House because your Felon ass brought them there so you could stay out of prison where you belong and make more corrupt business deals to enrich yourself and your family. You’re incredibly ignorant of the history of this nation, yet here you are again, running it into the ground at Mach speed.
I remember the part of US history we were told in New York City in the1950s. That history started with New Amsterdam (same place, different European empire) The last Dutch governor of New Amsterdam was Peter Stuyvesant, who decided that since it was a Dutch colony and Holland had an official church, all other churches should close. One school trip was to the Bowne House museum. The colonial owner opened his property to churches not approved by Stuyvesant, he was arrested, sent to Holland, and eventually allowed to go home with a letter telling Stuyvesant to allow the churches to reopen. An early step towards freedom of religion. The American Patriots were aware of the problems European nations had when religion and government were entangled: Government would try to control the churches and vice versa, to the detriment of the citizens. Donald Trump is apparently from Queens and should have heard of that early confrontation, but he does not seem to care.
Trump in the White House reminds me of the death of Archimedes. A brilliant and amazing man taken down by an ignorant brute that didn’t recognize him and couldn’t possibly fathom his work (or even his value as a military asset).
I’d warn those in the Trump administration: You’re skating on thin ice. Trump’s justice dept. won’t bring you to heel, but federal laws typically have a 5 year statute of limitation (just ask Hunter Biden) and you are committing crimes. Trump may pardon you on his way out, then again he might not, and he might not exit the white house in the usual way.
I’ve long considered Trump to be a cancer, at first his own party attempted to rejected him, but eventually the cancer became the self. He grows in size destroying healthy government, and it is hard to know how much can be reversed.
