This is the twenty-first installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section. Let’s have some fun!
Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a clip from a sermon preached by Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Steven Anderson, pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona.
Bruce, I am so thankful for this gentle heterosexual-wishing, zealot for Truth! I especially appreciate that his message could never be misconstrued as bullying unlike those gay parades that try to sodomize me straight through T.V.! Praise almighty God…
He’s so far into that closet, he’s in Narnia.
lol! I haven’t heard that one before.
No matter how many times I watch him my eyes still do this O.o
This man needs medical intervention. Labotomise him and prevent the hate being spread.
This made my ears bleed. Lord have mercy, this guy needs help. The saddest parts were when you hear the “amening” and laughter in the crowd.
I wonder what happened to him in 7th grade that made him SOOOO angry to this day? And seriously, people show up week after week to listen to him scream at them about something that they probably already agree with? I can’t imagine him preaching a “regular” sermon, he’s so worked up against homosexuality. This guy also preaches the quiverfull idea…just makes me retch.
