The first step in doing God’s work to fulfill his dream is to not fall victim to the labels and lies of the unbelieving world. When you tell people they are going to hell if they are unrepentant sinners be prepared to be called a hater and a bigot.
But names like that should roll off our backs. Telling the truth in love is not hatred nor is it bigotry. The truth exposes the hatred and bigotry on the unbelieving side as they do not want to hear it.
The people who do not want to repent of their sins will feel both emotions and more when they are excluded from paradise. They do not want to follow the standards of right and wrong, etc., yet they accuse the believer of being hate-filled and bigots.
We are just the messenger letting them know what is right and what is wrong. If they do not like it, it is not our responsibility. They have had their equal opportunity to be saved and they have rejected it. Their decisions are all on their shoulders.

From his followup entry: “We cannot make an impact for God in this world when we disobey God when we do not like his words or commands.”
I dunno, Derrick, you seem okay not obeying words like “love your wife as Christ loved the church” (Ephesians 5:25) or “be on guard against every form of impropriety” (Deut. 23:9) … “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.” (2 Cor 8:21) … and, of course, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices” (Colossians 3:9 … and strangely, verse 10 seems to omit “unless you are a Canadian expat trying to hide from your family, immigration officials, the woman whose identity you stole, and/or a child-support judgment” from my translation).
For certain, you seem to have dismissed James 1:26 out of hand: “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.”
Worthless, Derrick. You’re a liar, you’re a coward … but also, your words are worthless, your empty messages are worthless, and you’re worthless. Not only to the child you abandoned, but to your God, who has no use for liars and deceivers.
The Nuremberg defense (“i was following orders”) doesn’t wash when the orders are issued by an actual human. So how can it work when the “order” came from God whose existence can’t be proved? Especially when the order is one of hate delivered in the name of “love.”
This dude with a criminal record and a history of sociopathy thinks he’s speaking the truth in love. His photo should appear next to the word “delusional” in the dictionary.
Westboro Baptist Bigios said the same thing – that their vile bigoted picketing of funerals of fallen military personnel were acts of speaking truth with love. It’s amazing how some Christians can label bigotry as love.
The man is a cruel joke on humanity… pity those who might actually listen to him… Imagine what a mess a mind must be in for it to accommodate such a rattle as made by this fake doctor, fake man. Far-out types like this one often migrate to countries where they are given social standing just because they bring American money and call themselves ‘Dr.’. It is far easier to maintain denial in these circumstances because people can be paid to support your nonsense. If he was to try and fake-it in the USA, he’d be seen as a buffoon and tossed to the curb where his show belongs.
You’ll notice in his blog that he talks about his Masters-level studies. If you look at his Facebook page, you’ll also notice that he only references having attended seminary from 1976-1980. A man as arrogant as Derrick – to paraphrase a section of Scripture he really ought to revisit some day – is not going to earn a Masters and hide it under a basket, he’s going to put it on a stand for all the world to see.
Actually, he never specifically mentions having earned a Bachelor’s (non-U.S. readers: baccalaureate) either, just that he was in seminary for four years.
What say you, Derrick? Do you actually have a diploma from an accredited institution of higher learning you can show everyone?
