Why Are So Many Evangelical Preachers Obsessed with Sex, Gender, and Genitalia?

christians attack lgbt people

Why are so many Evangelical preachers obsessed with sex, gender, and genitalia? Every day, I peruse blog posts by preachers preoccupied with who fucks whom, when, where, and how. These preachers prattle incessantly about what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms. While these so-called men of God would say that “sin is sin,” based on what they dwell on in their sermons and blog posts, it’s evident that they consider sexual sins more serious than others. Never mind the fact that most sexual “sins” are between consenting adults; “sins” that hurt no one.

These keepers of everyone’s chastity but their own are especially focused on what LGBTQ people do sexually. Worse, they have gone after transgender people with hatred and vengeance. What have LGBTQ people done to these preachers of God’s sex code? Nothing. Their mere existence is enough to stir Evangelical preachers into fits of rage.

One Evangelical preacher, Dr. David Tee (whose real name is Derrick Thomas Theissen), recently wrote:

By now, everyone has heard of the UK Supreme Court’s decision. It is good news for real women who have suffered more than enough these past few years with fake women invading their spaces.

….

Of course, no Christian needed a Court’s decision on the issue. The Bible has been declaring the separation of the two genders for thousands of years, and Judaism did it long before that. The Supreme Court is merely saying what all Christians already knew, and what unbelievers have been hiding from.

What we hope will happen is that all fake women will be denied access to these spaces, and real women can feel safer. While this ruling only applies to the UK, we hope to see similar rulings take place around the globe.

The madness must stop as trans- women are not real women and suffer from mental and spiritual problems that deceive them into thinking they are something they are not. The objection that this decision may cause more fake women to kill themselves is erroneous.

The source of the problem with fake men and women is their blind acceptance of the feelings that they were born in the wrong body. They hold tightly to those feelings as if they were a lifeline. This is deception at work.

Until the fake men and women see this, they will always be confused and have problems. The feelings are not real, but a trap from evil to destroy them. They have to see that those feelings are false and take the right steps to get help.

Encouraging their ‘transition’ is not the answer and does not protect the lives of these fake people. In fact, it puts them more in harm’s way as the majority of society finds their delusions disgusting and wrong.

It is even more wrong to allow them to enter women’s spaces and activities and claim they are real women. As the Bible and science have pointed out continuously, no one can change their gender, and participating in this folly only makes fools out of the fake people and their supporters.

….

God does not change just because the NT came into existence. God made two distinct genders at creation, which do not change at any time. Science cannot overcome what God did at creation.

If you want to protect fake men and women, then get them the help they need instead of parading them around in public where they will be rejected, ridiculed, and worse. Trying to make them a part of normal society is not the right thing to do.

The trans ideology is perversion at its finest, desecrating what God called good. Let’s hope that more courts see the light and make the same correct decision as the UK Supreme Court did.

It is time to protect our children, sisters, brothers, cousins, and everyone who is falling to this sinful thinking that does more harm than good. Get them the help they need before it is too late.

Thiessen would have his handful of readers believe that transgender people are a threat to the human race. Previously, he has called for transgender people to be arrested and put in internment camps — thus protecting the public from these “evil” people.

Rarely does a week go by without Thiessen writing a post condemning transgender people. He is obsessed with these folks, even though they haven’t done anything to him. Most transgender people just want to be left alone. They want to have the same equal protection under the law as the rest of us.

While Thiessen is free to twist the Bible to fit his perverse hatred of people who violate his Puritan code of human sexuality, it doesn’t follow that the United States government should give his beliefs the force of law. We live in a secular state, not a theocracy. Until the David Thiessens of the world clearly show that transgender people harm others, their protestations carry no weight.

I find it interesting that Thiessen and his merry band of genital inspectors show little to no interest in a real threat to people, especially children. Transgender people rarely make the news for committing sex crimes, yet rarely does a day go by when one or more preachers are arrested, indicted, or convicted for sexual abuse, rape, and other sex crimes. Thiessen, in particular, ignores these stories, and even goes so far as to defend these Jesus-loving perverts. What are we to make of his behavior?

The message to Evangelical preachers is this: Mind your own fucking business. Clean up your own backyard first. Do something about predatory preachers and clerics who take sexual advantage of vulnerable people. Focus your attention on church members, and not on people who don’t attend your churches — people whose beliefs and practices are different from yours.

He is a clueless, transphobic, hateful ass.

I suspect he doesn’t know trans people. Or, maybe he doesn’t know he knows trans people. Even though popular opinion seems to think otherwise, trans people are not so easy to spot. There are people I know, who are trans, and there is nothing about them that lets you know. They just are who they are and are accepted as male or female.

And trust me, this evangelical bigot’s mind would explode if he saw some of these trans men in the women’s bathroom or locker room, or trans women in the men’s bathroom or locker room. You would hear the self righteous, hate spewing bellowing from miles away.

Not to mention the CIS gender men and women who have been accosted for “using the wrong restroom” because the just weren’t feminine and masculine enough.

It’s so bad that some people go out of their way to accost gender non-conforming people who are doing nothing more that sitting in a lobby or walking through a store. Somehow, the simple act of existing and daring to appear in public incenses these loving Christians so much that they go on confrontational, angry tirades against people who are literally just there breathing and minding their own business.

People like him are just sad, hateful, small minded people who desire to control everyone, and feel threatened by someone mere existence.

I was recently in an airport that had an all gender bathroom. What a concept. How does it work? Well, its a bathroom, sinks and mirrors on one wall, and rooms with toilets on the other. You know – a standard bathroom. The only difference is the toilets are in small enclosed rooms, none of those annoying cheap stalls with open spaces, gaps you can see through and doors that never latch. You get complete privacy, and safety. AND, if you are of the mindset you need to protect your wife and children while they use a bathroom, you can stand right by their stalls, knowing that they are in there alone, safe and sound, and that you are outside to stop any preacher who may be planning to sneak into the room with them.

But i can imagine the complete meltdown that would occur if places started using all gender bathrooms. How could that ever work? 🙄 🙄

Yes exactly, Sage. I helped run a community craft shop for 10. yrs. In that busy tourixt hotspot, the tourist board gave us a grant to put in a public toilet as there wasn’t one for miles along that hiking route. Folk would come in legs crossed sometimes, relieved (punn intended) to find it. Not once did a person leave without using it cos it was unisex. We then had to say they didn’t have to buy anything from the craft shop, it was a public loo for all. And had anyone gone behind the bushes in the garden we’d created, instead, I’d have turned the hosepipe on them.

It seems that the mind is an amazingly hard thing to turn off. Our brains naturally process all the inputs that come to it, including the natural urges for food, companionship, and sex. If all those urges are allowed to work together and are mixed in with the urges to be responsible people, what we find is good. But if one attempts to turn off any one of those valves–such as the flow of thoughts about sex–it doesn’t work. Eventually the thoughts tend to come out unrestrained by the other urges inside. Moments of unrestrained sexual thoughts that burst out at times and overwhelm thoughts of decency and respect can be a disaster. It’s better to build a unified self that fully integrates all the thoughts that come to mind into a whole person.

The UK Supreme Court, currently a much more respected and certainly less partisan court than that of the US, made a decision that is much less significant than bigots like Tee want to pretend. All they did was to define what the legal term ‘woman’ means, it did not define what ‘woman’ means in practical terms. They specifically said that their decision should not be seen as a victory for either side, and that they were not in any way diminishing the rights of LGBT people or the reality of their existence. Essentially, it allows women who have lived as women all their lives as women since birth a right to be distinguished from those who were not born women. Regardless of how one views the decision it is now the law. It is not a charter for disgusting bigots like Tee to assume that suddenly trans people don’t exist, and in many ways is the opposite of what he thinks, in that it specifically allows for the existence of trans people, something he just can’t get his head round. The UK is now being forced to address very directly the rights of transgenders in society, not to pretend that they don’t exist.

So folks like Tee want to deny me, and people like me, the right to live as the people we are and to love the people we love.

    How Christian of him! (sarcasm)

Unless you are going to have sex with a person or try to procreate with a person, how does it effectively impact your life to know the gender of another person? If your answer is that you need to know if I am a man or a woman so you know how to treat me, that’s a problem. Why do you need to treat me differently depending on what genitalia, organs, and hormone range I may have? Or will you be pissed off at me for using hormone therapy because my body no longer produces the hormones it used to (due to my age), and it caused me a lot of adverse symptoms that I didn’t want to live with anymore? Basically, my HRT is gender affirming care. And none of it is anyone else’s business. None of it.

where does the bible “declare the separation of the two genders”?

the bible declares “male and female, He created them”, but it doesn’t declare that these are the ONLY genders he created, nor does it even try to.

“dr. tea” should read “Same Sex Unions in PreModern Europe” by John Boswell — https://archive.org/details/samesexunionsinp00bosw — which details many same-sex unions that were sanctified by the Christian church, including several saints. 😒

but i sincerely doubt he WILL read it, because it disagrees with what he has already decided is the “truth”, and, even if he does, he will not be convinced. 😒

I’ve heard that it’s projection. Evangelicals are sexually repressed perverts, so they accuse everyone else of the things they think about and do. I believe the saying: “They want you to fight a culture war so you won’t fight a class war.” They are bigots, true, but getting the masses into a fury over LGBTQA is the GOP strategy to make people forget the billionaires who are destroying society.

It’s true that a lot of the Fundies are hung up on their own and other people’s body parts, because they were raised to hate and fear them. All hung up about that from a very young age. Like these body parts aren’t natural, like any other part of the body. Lots of stress involved.

A while ago I heard of some old busybodies castigating a slender 9 year old girl entering the womens’ lavatory in some public building. They thought she was a little boy. Unfortunately I don’t remember how much trouble those busybodies got into. Probably not enough!
