edward-current

This is the forty-eighth installment in the Sacrilegious Humor series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a comedy bit that is irreverent towards religion, makes fun of religion, pokes fun at sincerely held religious beliefs, or challenges the firmly held religious beliefs of others, please email me the name of the bit or a link to it.

Today’s comedy bit is by Edward Current. Current attacks atheists who take the Bible out of context.

Warning, many of the comedy bits in this series will contain profanity. You have been warned.

That is the single worst attempt at proving the truth of the bible that I have ever seen. I, as a full blown atheist, could have done it better.

His evidence for dismissing evolution? Durr…it says here God created the world in seven days so it can’t be true. End of…And Noah. There’s been an ark found on the top of Mount….oops I’ve forgotten its name (without googling I’ll suggest Ararat, or something like that). Something about giants…only he couldn’t work out what he wanted to say. Then when it comes to other things well….durr….that’s god talking to himself. He’s allowed to do it…..But don’t forget….oh no, no no….homosexuality is an abomination so gay marriage shouldn’t be allowed.

This guy typifies all that’s wrong with bible fundamentalists. He claims he believes everything it says as being literally true (even though evolution is a proven fact) but is stuck with things that can’t possibly be true. These bits (which I’d argue is actually the vast majority) he says have to be read in context but he isn’t intelligent enough to explain what he means and resorts to ‘durr it’s obvious’. Pathetic idiot.
