Christians Say the Darnedest Things: What God Thinks of Sodomites by Ivan Foster

ivan foster

It is very common for sodomites and their supporters to make the most offensive and fallacious claims regarding God’s view of sodomy. It is in keeping with the character of this dreadful wickedness that the community associated with it does not fear to claim God’s endorsement of their vile lifestyle. Nothing can be more provocative in the eyes of God than this blatant misrepresentation of Him and His Holy Word. Mrs Elaine Somers claims that, in her view, she can say of her older sodomite son, “God made him, he is God’s son”. She went further and said: “I, too, could take verses from the Old Testament regarding homosexuality, but the Jesus I know, and my mother knew, teaches me that they are precious in his sight and you cannot take that from me.” She went on to say of Mr Wells: “You do not know the true meaning of Christian love. I hope someday you will.” She is quite wrong in a number of important matters.

….

Men and women whose lives are dominated and controlled by sin, as the sodomites most definitely are, cannot claim that they are children of God! The Christian is someone in whom God is working out His purpose as it stated by Paul the apostle. “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen,” Hebrews 13:20-21. The sodomite lives in complete defiance of God’s stated will. In utter contravention of His holy law. There is a total absence of that “working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight” in the unrepentant sodomite. This poor woman is utterly deceived regarded her sons’ eternal state. Tragically, her error is endorsed and supported by the leaders of the mainline churches worldwide! What a dreadful day of retribution awaits both the deceivers and their victims, the deceived.

Because religious belief of the evangelical, fundamentalist variety is based on our harmed histories, personal and collective, it allows for all kinds of abuse, requires it, in fact. Those who take guidance from a man who walked down the road and saw visions, heard voices, might as well worship a volcano and hurl people into the lake of fire to keep the powers contented. Things have not changed much in this regard and the blatant hatreds touted as God’s Love with a capital “L”, just continue to flabbergast me as I limp into my golden years.
Ivan Foster is anxious to offer the world the ‘real truth’ as opposed to the wishful thinking of a loving, accepting mother. He needs to do this, why? It waylays his own pain, his own dark closet where he and ‘St. Paul’ do their thing.
What a dreadful day of retribution awaits, indeed, when Ivan finally faces his own closet and a light comes on…

A good analogy to how this appears to a modern viewer would be to imagine you’re back in the time of the Salem witch trials. The absurdity of the situation where you’re you’re putting innocent women on trial is seen by modern eyes but missed by those who thought they were following God’s edicts.

Mrs Somers’ letter is beautiful. She is evidently a remarkable lady. Like her I am tired of bigots like Wells (the recipient of her letter) and this idiot Foster, who has poked his nose in where it doesn’t belong, telling gay people how they are wicked ‘sodomites’ living in defiance of an imaginary god.

I didn’t choose to be gay and lived most of my life resisting and denying it. The day I stopped doing so was the day I finally became myself and started living. My lifelong depression lifted almost immediately and the freedom and fulfilment I’ve known subsequently has been worth a million made-up gods.

I’d love to send Mrs Somers a supportive comment, but can’t see any way to do on the site where her letter appears.

I just love how ignorant asshat bullies like this guy claim to know exactly what their mythical god thinks and believes. In reality, all they are doing is projecting out their own angry, ugly, nasty egos for the rest of us to see, laugh at…and in the case of those who are so obviously self-loathing closet cases, pity.
