Poking Geri Ungurean, An Evangelical Conspiracy Theorist

geri-ungurean

Geri Ungurean is an Evangelical conspiracy theorist. You can read here rants at the Absolute Truth from the Word of God: Jesus Has Every Answer blog. Ungurean is a Trump-supporting, anti-vaxxer, anti-masker hater of George Soros — who is Satan personified. Ungurean believes that Facebook and WordPress are out to get her due to her “truth” telling. I will leave it to readers to peruse her site and determine how truthful she is. I am of the opinion that Ungurean is a liar and full of shit. And the other day, I told her so:

geri ungurean comment

As you can see, I used Ungurean’s name to comment. 🙂

In classic tinfoil hat fashion, Ungurean turned my comment into a conspiracy theory:

You see, this person created a gmail account using my name. My gmail is grandmageri422.

This morning I wrote an email to this imposter. I told him/her that I forgave them and that I only had one response:

(Lengthy Plan of Salvation deleted)

God knows who the person is who responded to my article on George Soros.

I am asking the readers to Pray for this person. Yes – let’s corporately send prayers up to heaven asking our Lord to reach this person for Him!

First, I did NOT create a Gmail account in Ungurean’s name. This is a lie, and she knows it. Second, if she actually sent an email to the fictitious address I used, it should have bounced back to her. She would then KNOW that I did NOT create a new account in her name. Third, Ungurean published her FULL Gmail address on a public blog. This is really a bad idea. I was able to leave several more snarky comments in Ungurean’s name. Just having a bit of fun while I slowly die. Might as well leave this life being a pain in Evangelical asses, right?

My main beef with Ungurean is that she is a liar, that she deliberately spreads things she knows are not true (or should know if she did a bit of legitimate research). Ungurean is not stupid, but she has so deeply immersed herself in Evangelical dogma and right-wing conspiracy theories that she has lost the ability to think critically. Her writing is a good example of the pernicious nature of Fundamentalist thinking.

I genuinely feel sorry for Ungurean. She’s my age, a grandmother, so I know it is unlikely that anyone can say anything to change her mind. That’s what Fundamentalist religious beliefs will do to your mind. I know that was the case for me. Your beliefs keep you from seeing any “truth” but yours. And when you are in the Evangelical bubble, it makes perfect sense. Your beliefs and practices perfectly align with the “truth” of the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God, saying to you, Praise Jesus! I am right. To those outside of the bubble, however, you are viewed as a bat-shit crazy lunatic. That’s why many Evangelicals-turned-atheists can only shake their heads in disbelief and shame when they think about what they used to believe and how they lived their lives. I once was Geri Ungurean, so I understand where she is coming from. That said, I was a liar and full of shit then, as she is now. And that’s the truth.

Let me conclude this post with some of the comments on Ungurean’s blog about my comment. Funny stuff, to say the least:

Dale:

Keep preachin’ it girl! Heap those loving truth burning coals on their heads. People like this live on hate not love. If they knew Christ they would know real love. It’s not “feelie” or “gimmie” type love but love based on true commitment. John 15:13 describes the commitment part of real love & He did that for us undeserving sinful jerks. He loved us first, He saves us from God’s wrath, He sanctifies us, He keeps us, He takes us with Him at death, He keep us forever with Himself, He cannot ever lose any of his sheep. An excellent deal, and its free. He paid the entire price & He guarantees it FOREVER! The clear Gospel msgs we send to people like this may go unheeded but the Lord will on “J” day present these msgs as evidence against them. They will be without excuse.

Oh yeah keep the correspondence simple, its obvious this person’s vocabulary is very limited.

Jim:

Geri, whoever wrote you was a sick person. Keep preaching it. God/Jesus loves you. You are a very brave woman that you wrote many articles that were proven FACTS!!! Satan and demons hate the truth. The world are getting darker and darker. Time is short. I truly believe the rapture is very near. I pray this year, 2021!!!!!!

You will getting a crown in the Heaven.

Marianne:

I am praying also for this person now.

Bryan:

Take all of this as a ‘back-handed compliment’ from the “father of lies.” You have SO rattled his cage, so to speak, that he has resorted to plain old simple forgery and abuse. Then you’ve responded with Love and concern for the poor soul who satan has manipulated to attack you – it’;s pathetic really. As i often say to he enemy-of-our-souls “Is THAT really the best you can do?” (with as much contempt as i can muster.) If THIS is satan’s “master plan” to shut you up, then you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about!

I agree with my brother “Keep heaping on the burning coals” of Love, Compassion and concern, plus relentless resistance of the devil’s doomed strategies, then watch him FLEE!

The big reveal, and the big heartache, is how much hate is directed at others by the supposedly loving and learned Christian judges and accusers. They undermine their own beliefs, and cripple their own message, and yet they are completely ignorant of this. Perhaps because they keep getting checks in the mail, which I think is pretty much what it all comes down to. Can’t make the Jaguar payments without it, eh? Can’t do anything else that is useful or productive, so tap into the weakness of the gullible and make them suffer even more. Praise Jesus! But shame on you folks who do this.

Sick. They are so sick. And you’re right, this woman and her cohort are willfully choosing to believe lies, because that’s the “reality” they want to live in.

    “Satan’s master plan” AHAHAHA..soo funny.

Satan doesn’t need a master plan. He just sits back and let’s gullible evangelicals do all the leg work. His biggest concern is negotiating with god to acquire more land to expand his lake. He needs more room for the evangelicals and their recruits.

Sage—The way I figure it, if Satan or God needs the likes of me to carry out their plans, they must not be—in the parlance of my folks—all that.

Then again,!if God is in charge, Satan doesn’t really have a plan if God is pulling his strings.

That said, I haven’t decided whether Geri Ungurean and the ones who heaped on to her falsehoods are criminally insane, or just criminals.

MJ, now you are using logic again, and we all know you can’t do that in a religious argument!😁

Sadly people like these people are a big part of all the bigotry we must all deal with.

There’s those “crowns” again . . . and all those “precious jewels” showed up.

In my born-again days it was not unusual to hear from liars that lying was okay if it was for the cause of Christ. Ironic.

Bat Shit Crazy Lunatic? I disagree – I think many of these people are merely playing to their audience to sell something or ask for donations. I didn’t waste any of the ever shrinking time I have left to read her “thoughts” but back here in the cheap seats it appears that many, if not most, of these preacher & political types (right, left and center) are merely promoting their brand. More scary are their ignorant minions heading to the ballot box.

When I read the title ‘Poking Geri….’ I immediately thought of UK slang that gives another meaning to poke which I’m sure I don’t need to explain. I thought ‘no thanks’.

I am a Christian and will always be one. However, I hate American Christianity with a passion. As I age (early 50s), I find that Eastern Orthodoxy (not selling it) is the closest thing we have to the first century Christians. Let’s see: the EOC gives huge sums to the poor, lives among them, witnesses to them, their clergy don’t live in fancy houses or drive fancy cars, they can marry, they have cool beards, the EOC doesn’t try and bilk people out of their earnings so a pastor and his wife can have a fancy house, fancy cars, a lavish lifestyle like old Joe Osteentatious does down in Texas. I hate American Christianity. I hate the 30,000 denominations all claiming to have the truth, yet they all differ in their beliefs. I hate the rapture theory, which didn’t originate until the 1830s.

I hate the treatment of immigrants (whatever happened to welcome the foreigner among you?), women (created equal but different, but let’s pay them 1/3 less than the men for the same work), and people of color (are we not all equal?). I hate the fact that if you are not right wing, then how could you possibly be a Christian? I hate the books that are written by pastors who do so only to make money and who would point you to their book over scripture. I used to work at a large evangelical church. The “pastor” wrote several books and bought them by the pallet load to sell in the church book store (in my eyes akin to the money lenders Jesus drove from the temple). By buying over 10,000 of his own books in the first week of launch, he guaranteed his own place on the NY Times bestseller list. His books sold very few copies in his own store. He did this with every book he wrote. Spending the people’s money to elevate himself. I left that job post haste and now work for a not-for-profit. I hate that American Christianity is now more about self-improvement and that Jesus is now just something to complete the picture (I guess these pastors haven’t read Mark 10).

While I will always be a Christian and worship the authentic Jesus of the Bible, not the American Jesus made up by far right wing hucksters looking to make a buck, I’m glad your site exists to expose all the madness, stupidity, and idiocy of what is tantamount to a cult in America and not Christianity.

    • Bruce Gerencser

SO, you have bought into the idea that Eastern Orthodox Christianity is the one true faith; that you worship the “authentic” Jesus of the Bible?

American Christianity is quite diverse. Your objection is to Evangelicalism, not American Christianity as a whole, yes?

Are women permitted to be priests in the EOC? Of course not. Thus, I don’t buy that women are, in any way, equal. I understand that you will respond with: the BIble says/the Church says, but is this not the same argument that American Christians use for all sorts of social/moral constructs?

I can appreciate your POV, but I know a lot of Eastern Orthodox folks who love Trump and everything the GOP stands for, and most of them weren’t even born in the U.S. (In fact the leftist Christians I know are mostly Protestant and Catholic.)

Well, the EOC is the main denomination for most Slavic countries, certainly for Russia it is. True women have traditional status, not equality, as it’s known in the West. I have my own beef with them. But, there’s a kind of dignity they have that American Christianity really lacks. Historically, there are reasons to blame the EOC for things back there, but that’s another story for another day.

Just a couple of observations. Having a mommy blog allows one to recede from reality. For example you don’t need to talk to anyone that differs from your conspiracy, everyone that visits the mommy blog will 100% ditto everything you say. Oh you get the occasional poke, but that is unusual enough she’ll pray for you.
Of course a mommy blog (or any blog) depends on a highly sophisticated network of modern computer power using the latest technology, it then goes to disparage proven technology like vaccines.

Well, Bruce, you do seem like quite the asshole. Reading thru the comments you seem to have attracted many of your own kind, as well.

    • Bruce Gerencser

😂😂Aw, Scotty, my boy, you hurt my feelings. 😂😂 You read all of one post and passed judgment, concluding I’m an asshole. I certainly can be one, but I generally treat people like they treat me. Don’t want to be treated like an asshole, don’t act like one.

As far as the readers of this blog are concerned, they are generally good people. Kind, thoughtful, affable. But, they too give no quarter to Christian Trolls and Jesus-Loving Assholes. You will get treated, Scott, just like you treat others. Behave like a decent human being and you will be treated in kind.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the plethora of comments on this site from God-fearing, bought-by-the-blood, born-again, Bible-believing, self-righteous,nasty, hateful, vile, arrogant, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Evangelical Christians.

Let’s see what kind of Christian you really are.

Please ponder this verse from the Good Book:

Answering before listening is both stupid and rude. (Proverbs 18:13)

      Be well.

Just wondering why you would go after someone like Geri Ungurean?? I would think you would choose one of the many prosperity gospel peachers like the Copelands, Benny Hinn, Beth Moore, etc. Geri is a born again Jew who doesn’t ask for money, her views are Bible based and all of her messages are based on what is actually going on in the world today. She deals with the madness that is going on with regard to sexuality and children, unnecessary mandates, the potential horrors of AI and crypto currencies, etc. And of course, the soon return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the coming Great Tribulation. I don’t know why you left your evangelical roots and the great commission of spreading the Gospel. Do you really believe that what you are doing now is better?

    • Bruce Gerencser

Ungurean is a cultist and conspiracy theorist. She promotes things that actually cause harm. Ungurean may think she is doing “good,” but she’s not. She publishes lies, distortions, and half-truths daily, ignoring anyone who tries to correct her.

As far as why: http://brucegerencser.net/why/ I will leave it to others to decide if what I do today is “better.”

Speaking up and uncovering the truth is certainly biblical. The prophet Nathan uncovered David’s conspiracy to cover up his sin of murder (2 Samuel 12). Paul’s nephew uncovered a plot to assassinate Paul, and his knowledge foiled the attempt (Acts 23). Wickedness likes to hide. John 3:20 says, “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.” We should always seek the truth. “Love truth and peace” (Zechariah 8:19). All Geri Ungurean is doing is exposing the truth about behavior that is already questionable in most people’s minds. It’s called discernment. We are living in the final stages of the Age of Grace–believers need to be awakened.(NOT WOKE) to the signs of the times.

    • Bruce Gerencser

What is “Biblical” doesn’t interest me. I’m an atheist. What does interest me is truth/facts/evidence. Ungurean’s posts are lacking in these things. If she wants to blather on about this or that point of theology or Bible verse, I couldn’t care less. However, when she misrepresents, distorts, and lies about science, politics, atheists/humanists, or me personally, that matters to me. Her words can and do cause harm. Even some of her family members think as I do. They think Ungurean has fallen down a deep rabbit hole, embracing all sorts of harmful beliefs and conspiracy theories.

You state: “All Geri Ungurean is doing is exposing the truth about behavior that is already questionable in most people’s minds. It’s called discernment.” It is not discernment if it is based on ignorance. What evidence do you have for your claim “already questionable in most people’s minds.” What, exactly, is questionable? Not COVID. Not vaccines. Not 5G. Not global warming. Not the 2020 election results. Not who is presently president. Ungurean frequently lies about these issues and others — either ignorantly or deliberately. It seems there’s not a conspiracy theory she doesn’t like and embrace.

Define “woke.” I suspect you have no idea what the word actually means. Same with terms such as critical race theory, socialism, liberalism, and communism.

The Bible tells us that a fool says in his heart that there is no God. Creation speaks to the absolute truth of God through Jesus Christ: Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. You say that you are interested in truth/facts and evidence. Philosophers, intellectuals, and even artists have tried to name truth apart from Jesus Christ, and it’s popular to speak of “my truth” or “your truth” as opposed to God’s absolute truth. Jesus told us that deception would be prevalent on the earth in the end times. His words warned us of the danger of being deceived by men. If you want facts, I’ll give you one very important fact, if you are not of God, you are of your father, the devil who does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. God has promised wisdom to us if we ask (James 1:5), and we should pray for it and trust God’s prompting to know how and when to end the dialogue with a hostile atheist. Just one last word to you, I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will open your eyes to the truth of His word. Geri Ungurean and I are just putting out the warning signs that are all around us–instead of mocking you would be wise to heed these warnings.

    • Bruce Gerencser

Sigh. Just more sermonizing on your part. You know this doesn’t work with people like me. I don’t need my “eyes open” to the “truth of God’s Word.” I know the Bible inside and out — probably better than you do. Want to have a theological discussion, I’m game.

Wow, you called me a fool and said I’m a child of Satan. I’ve never heard that before! That’s sarcasm, by the way. Name calling. To what end, RoseMarie?

You need to learn how to engage people who disagree with you. Talking/preaching AT them accomplishes nothing. Is that your goal? Do you just want to hear yourself talk or need to feel justified and vindicated by calling names?

      Try harder, RoseMarie, try harder.

      🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

So..it is discernment when you disagree with someone, and call them fools, and make brash claims that your view is the only correct view, and demand everyone accept what you say.

But is is mocking when someone disagrees with you, and says your views are ignorance or outright lies, and very dangerous.

      🙄

Mmhm…and you want to be taken seriously???

So many of us have been where you are Rosemarie. We understand your position more than you realize. You believe it literally. We do not. For that you believe we are of the devil and will spend eternity in flames. Your God is not an awesome God and those of you who threaten hell fire can throw out your personal accountability behind the Bible for a story that to date has never been proven true. It’s so easy for you isn’t it.

Last evening at approximately 4:00 p.m. our one-year old pitbull died suddenly absolutely no warning. He was playing outside with our other dog, my husband called him over, and he ran over to lay down beside my husband, and then in an instant he was gone. We are devastated–no time to even say goodbye. This reminded me of how quickly we can be taken from this life to spend our eternity somewhere. Our choices are either with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, or separated from Him to be with Satan. As Christians we are commissioned to spread the gospel, that’s all I’m doing. I have never visited your site before, and I only did this time to stand up for a believer who is also warning of Christ’s soon return. When we have made a good-faith effort to talk to someone, and he or she is unreachable, then we are commanded to “shake the dust off” of our shoes (Luke 9:5) and spend our time talking to those who are more spiritually open. I take God’s word very seriously and so should you.

Rosemarie, I have no doubt that you are well intentioned, but as I am pretty certain there is no god (I can’t be absolutely sure of course, but I’d bet the farm on it) your words have no meaning to me. Simple preaching is actually all you can do, because you cannot use reason to persuade me as to your view. If you could provide just one iota of evidence to support your views (which means not quoting the bible) then perhaps you’d get less pushback.

    • Bruce Gerencser

Much like Ungurean’s blog, this blog is a private site, one that I make available to the public. When you first commented, you were served a page that detailed the comment rules. Did you read them? Preaching is unwelcome here. Yet, you persist.

BTW, you have NOT made a good faith effort to TALK to me. You talked AT me,not TO me. You couldn’t even be bothered to read any of my autobiographical writing. Why is that? No need to know me. You are here to verbally masturbate.

Rosemarie, what you describe is a false dichotomy. There are other possibilities:

There is no Jesus and no Satan, and no afterlife of any kind.
There are other gods out there (and there are a lot of possibilities!) that are totally indifferent or outright hostile to your Christian prayers. No Valhalla for you!

I’m not a Christian because I find the Christian philosophy morally abhorrent. If your god demands that you accept a human sacrifice in the form of Jesus, with eternal torment as the punishment for not playing along, you have much worse problems than “Satan.” I believe that it is cowardly to accept such “salvation” – in my eyes, it’s the real “mark of the Beast” because it reduces human morality to animalistic survival and pain avoidance.

Oh, and Jesus ain’t coming back (assuming he was here in the first place, and wasn’t just a fever-dream fanfic character from the demented mind of Paul of Tarsus). People don’t come back from the dead, regardless of what the Bible says. Don’t wait up.

Yes, this life is short or long, but all creatures great and small die. I’ve lost two beloved dogs, but the only message I took from it is that the loss can create heartache. I don’t choose to imbue it with religious significance, nor as support for any particular religion’s beliefs and stories. I understand that it can be comforting to do so, even as it raises other questions (such as “Why did God kill my dog?”) Take your beliefs as seriously as you wish to, for whatever peace and solace it gives you, but please don’t tell others that they “should” do likewise, nor suggest that anyone not abiding your choices and beliefs is damned. That’s making a judgment that you “should” know better than to co-opt. It presumes a power and right that is not yours.
