Christians Say the Darnedest Things: God Intends for Us to Use the Planet, Not Protect It

john macarthur

“Consensus science is the first refuge of scoundrels … invoked only in situations where there is a political, social, financial agenda but no scientific support.”

Here’s the key, friends, this is the real deal. Legitimate science recognizes a close correlation between sunspots and climate change … The sun is the source of temperature changes because of its infrared variations. … There is absolutely no evidence that CO₂ contributes to warming. On the contrary the opposite is true. Warming produces CO₂ … It’s the other way round.

By the way, plants produce CO₂. What man produces is marginal … Industry doesn’t affect CO₂ in the environment or atmosphere.

This is all political [and] financial agendas, class warfare, class envy … By the way, US$100 billion has been spent to make a case for global warming … driven by the socialist mentality … even some of the feminist mentality that resents male success.

God intended us to use this planet, to fill this planet for the benefit of man. Never was it intended to be a permanent planet. It is a disposable planet. Christians ought to know that.

— John MacArthur, in a sermon preached at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, The Conversation, ‘God intended it as a disposable planet’: meet the US pastor preaching climate change denial, October 12, 2020

Damn, this is dangerous thinking. A disposable planet….

On another note, this reminds me that I wasn’t allowed as a child to say “mother nature” or “mother earth” because they were somehow blasphemous…..

that is so crazy. the notion that the earth is disposable is about what the pentecostal cult i grew up in taught us. i must say, this is but one of the many reasons i will no longer vote republican. tired of this idea that religion will solve it all by transporting us away to heaven and the earth be damned.

Gotta make sure we blame those “Eve’s” too. Patriarchy at its best.

IFB, conservative evangelical beliefs too back in my day. God gave “mankind” dominion over the planet and all living creatures. Use it up because eventually it will all burn up. Going to get a new heaven and a new earth. And they are still preaching it.

This is one of the reasons why people are emotionally drawn to the ignoramus in the White House: He proudly spouts utter nonsense just like John MacArthur and is proud to be ignorant while calling himself informed. I wonder if John considers himself a stable genius too…
Stand a pulpit and shout the truth! People of God, Be STUPID for Jesus! People of God, Throw away your masks and Let God protect you. Belief might not make you dumb but it sure keeps you that way.

Ah yes, John and Jack Mac Arthur…….what about that scripture, where God say that he will destroy those who destroy the Earth ?? My question for that cantankerous codger in the pulpit there in Sun Valley. I’ve been by their building there on Roscoe. Such a bad neighborhood too. My late best friend attended their church in the early 90’s with his then-wife. They went for prayer, for which they would be charged $ 1,500. I remember that my friend said that Arthur had a real meanness to him. Nouthetic variety, of course. As couple’s counseling went.
