Rev. James Makerfield Finally Sees the Light

peanut gallery

I recently wrote a post titled, The Horrors of the Evangelical Hell. Included in that post was a long email I received from a man named Rev. James Makerfield — likely a fake name. I typically send Evangelicals a link to the post of my response to them. I am happy to report that my post on Hell was so persuasive and devastating that it left Makerfield speechless. Almost, anyway. All Makerfield could say was this: Lost cause 😭

Rev. Makerfield has finally seen the light. Atheists and agnostics are indeed “lost causes.”

Now, go away and find someone who gives a shit. I don’t, and neither do my fellow unbelievers.

Bruce Gerencser, 66, lives in rural Northwest Ohio with his wife of 45 years. He and his wife have six grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Bruce pastored Evangelical churches for twenty-five years in Ohio, Texas, and Michigan. Bruce left the ministry in 2005, and in 2008 he left Christianity. Bruce is now a humanist and an atheist.

    lost cause
    /ˈˌlôst ˈkôz/
    noun
a person or thing that can no longer hope to succeed or be changed for the better.

Oh, the irony in the use of this term by someone who has deserted their genuine self and degraded their own life for fnatasy! This distorted fellow suggests that Almighty is a lost cause because Almighty has no interest in seeking the demented state being offered by ‘salvation’ (irony of ironies!) When one fails to stay intact, admits that they are rotten to the core, then seemingly they become something more palatable than a lost cause? By losing (hating) the self they are, they are found! Fundamentalist Christianity takes doublespeak to newspeak. And people tithe to continue and support the cause. Wow.

Personal beliefs are best kept private, it turns out. For some reason, American Evangelicals feel compelled to make spectacles of themselves, and just basic Christianity period. Even worse, they have exported their crazy, abusive ways to Africa, South America, the Philippines, former U.S.S.R,etc. Ruining the experience for countless millions while spreading cults all over in those places. Is it any wonder that the Fundagelical version is so HATED. Lost causes is a term that describes them, also. Which is why they’re losing their congregants to the point where books have appeared now, how to keep your church from losing the youths, holding on to your congregation– you see such books advertised in Christianity Today, and similar magazines. You who are like Tom Barker, This Rev. James character, are from this sorry group should just admit to a desire to harangue former/ current believers/ atheists for fun, or back to the fold. You drive people away, so you think you can remedy this by pestering. Southern style.

Lol, i can attest to the damage they have done to Africa. That’s where I’m from, let me tell you, its worse over here. Funny thing is that most pastors here believe all of the western christians have failed amd are going to hell, you know, the women wear trousers, paint their faces and nails etc 😂 like wtf, they actually preach these on the streets, early mornings and on sundays. And oh, they men watch wrestling, football, tatoos, dyed hair or braided etc so join the wagon to hell. 😂😂. I kept asking people to think, these people used force and deceit (this being simple mirrors and gin according to actual history) to convert your fore fathers, we have a religion of our own. We lived in peace until they came. I tell people that the only reason our real religion got almost wiped was that it was taught by illiterates and had no book. Anyways thats a story for another day. Now, africa is more religious than the US, schools will force you to join the church, stay back at home on a sunday morning and You’re labelled a criminal, dye your hair and your lost, tattoos? Well you just sold your soul. Secular music is demonic, only listen to their type. Skirts above the knee gets u physically abused. Say I’m an atheist and its the end of the world for you. The psychological abuse is even worse, hell is a bed time story, the almighty “i went to hell and came back tales” never stop coming, people screaming at your window at 4am in the morning with a speaker about sin is normal, report them and your labelled anti christ. And if you have parents like mine, its all of this ×2000. Fuck religion
