Christians Say the Darnedest Things: David Tee Can’t Fathom How Transgender People Can Have Babies

dr david tee

You just have to shake your head in disbelief at the stupid things people come up with.

….

Well, they [transgender people] are wrong. Just because they pretend to be a different gender, does not make them one. Nor does it change what God has created. Women still give birth to babies and men do not.

Men do not have wombs, periods, ovaries, or breasts that give milk. No matter how they slice up their bodies, women do not magically become men.

….

Since when is telling people the truth, hatred? As Christians, we are to love our neighbors NOT participate in or support their fantasies. When you look at people who claim to be transgender and their supporters you can see two things. One is the strong delusion that God promised to send to unbelievers.

The second is the deception that evil does in this world. If you want to evangelize this minute group of people, you will need to pray and ask God to remove both so his word can get into these people’s hearts.

Our war is not with our fellow human beings[ yes, it is, you can’t separate the “sin” from the sinner] but with the evil that destroys our fellow human beings through various tricks, etc. In the meantime, do not buy into the false narrative that a mistake was made at birth.

That is impossible as women give birth to boys and girls not animals, cell groups, and so on. And only women can give birth. In over 5000 years of human history this has not changed.

So you have to ask why now? Why did this attitude of supporting transgenderism come from? Why are more and more people identifying as transgender and so many educators trying to turn little boys and girls into the opposite gender than they were born?

We must be getting close to the end times as evil is working harder than ever to destroy humans the apple of God’s creation. Be on the alert and when your children say they are a girl when they are a boy or a boy when they are a girl, usually they grow out of that misidentification.

Don’t panic [let me panic for you] but ask God to guide you with the right words to say that will protect your children from those that wish to harm them psychologically and by confusing them.

Remember, God gave you your children for you to raise. They are not to be raised by the government or someone else, especially a non-believer. The unbelieving are the ones lost, blind, and deceived. They cannot help you through those difficult times.

What about those born into Christian households, who grow up and are STILL transgender?? All that praying apparently didn’t work. I wonder why? (sarcasm intentional)

This comment is mostly for Dr. PontificaTee, since I suspect he reads the comments here.

It’s easy to make the assumption that sex assigned at birth (based on the equipment a person is born with) should always somehow define gender identity, even though gender identity is a function of a person’s brain, not the equipment below their neck. Never mind that even sex is not always absolutely male or absolutely female; bodies are complicated and a lot of stuff has to happen to go from a fertilized egg to a baby.

It’s easy to make all kinds of mistakes in life, and this is one of them. But because the people who wrote the Bible and had no concept of modern science didn’t understand this interesting bit about being human, the worshippers of that book insist on ignoring information that is now freely available to educated people. But then, they ignore all kinds of scientific understanding that contradict that fossil of a book.

I don’t understand Tee’s problem. He doesn’t seem to realise that biological sex is different to gender. In most people they correspond, in some they don’t. So what, big deal, get over it.

His site is apparently “for the glory of God” yet with all the God fans to and fro, he cannot seem to garner even one ‘like’!
It made me laugh to read an invitation (at the bottom of a recent post on his site) “Be the first to like!” Nah, don’t think I’ll be first or last…

Gender queer people have existed throughout the history of humanity. It is not new, nor is it growing, nor indoctrinating children. You see more trans and non binary people, and others, because they feel more confident in coming out.

Cultures all across the earth, throughout history, have included why we like to call gender non conforming people. They were seen as normal, or in some cases seen as a more respected person.

I am glad young people feel more confident to come out and live their true self (as god created them, if you believe in god). These kids are not being indoctrinated, but instead are being supported to find their way.

Bigots like this ignorant man want to use fear to incite others to join his bigotry, what better way than to claim kids are being indoctrinated and made to be trans. Now scared Christian’s parents vocally attack other children, trying to control their lives, they create laws, overrun school meetings, and generally attempt to force all kids, and all, parents, to follow their rules, all in the name of parental rights. It’s a load of fucked up bullshit.

In the meantime, there are some children of these Christian hatemongers who cower in fear, because they know they are trans, non binary, etc. But they will suppress it, to their detriment, because their Christian parents put themselves before, their kids needs. So these kids will hide, will learn to appear “normal” berate themselves because no matter how hard they try, they cannot meet the expectations of their parents or the god their parents brainwash them into accepting.

It ironic to me that Christians accuse the world of indoctrinating their kids to make them trans, while ignoring their own “start at birth”, highly structured, multi tiered child indoctrination system.

Note to Christians, not everyone is like you, using any method to manipulate, indoctrinate, and control. Quit projecting your vile practices onto other people and leave others to live their life. Go worship and think as you desire, but leave everyone else to live how they desire.

dear oh dear bruce, you really have gone off the rails on this one. no doubt your close-knit ‘kommunity’ will wheedle and coo and generally affirm your wonky world view and you’ll sit as king over your teeny tiny transitory domain, smh. today i identify as millionaire, as aged 22, as immortal, as good-looking and virile, and it’s my right to own and inhabit this ‘space’, smh. Your shallow reasoning is only contributing to the soon collapse of our generally Godless society. But you know that deep down anyway.

It’s understandable that people do not understand that biological sex, sexualoty, and gender are all completely different things. Look at sex education in the USA – some states don’t even teach it, some private schools in progressive states don’t teach it, some states provide comprehensive sex education in public schools, and there’s everything in between. People are WOEFULLY ignorant of this kind of information that should be taught to every single human being. People aren’t going to be “turned” gay or trans simply by learning these concepts that help us better understand ourselves and others. However, youth who learn about biological sex, sexuality, and gender actually will have the information and tools to better understand where they themselves are on these spectrums. They may be less confused. They may learn that they aren’t “weird” or “bad” or anything else by being their authentic selves. Their mental health may not be so poor that they want to commit suicide. How about that?

And no, a deity did not “give” me my children. My partner and I chose to have unprotected sex because we wanted to start a family. We were fortunate not to have any fertility issues. We were fortunate to have medical care so that I could gestate and give safe birth to the 2 babies. We also took full advantage of birth control when we decided we wanted no more children. Amen, medical science. (Don’t get me started on these radical extremist religious f&cks who want to do away with reproductive rights).

I last took a science class when Jimmy Carter was President. Still, I am not being immdoest in saying that I probably know more about human anatomy and physiology–not to mention the history of the human race–than “Tee” does.

First off, he says “5000 years” of human history. That’s not even accurate in the most illiterately literal reading of the Bible. The fundamentalist Christian churches and ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities (and, I suspect, other denominations) believe that the human race is 6027-6 days old.

OK. he’ll probaly say (if he reads this) I’m “nitpicking.” What’s 1027 years among friends, right? But here is something else he gets wrong: He defines woman- and man-hood by the ability or inability to give birth. There are plenty of women in this world who, through no fault of their own, cannot conceive or bear children. Now, it’s true that men cannot bear children–at least, human men can’t. In some species, such as seahorses, males bear and birth offspring.

Thus, his denying trans people on the basis that we can’t reproduce ourselves in the way straight cisgender people denies the humanity of folks who are impotent or infertile. At least, that is how I’d interpret what he says if I were a cisgender person who couldn’t reproduce myself.

Then again, he thinks that he’s doing God’s work by disrespecting and insulting people who don’t confirm his worldview.

MJ, great point – not everyone with a uterus and ovaries can reproduce. Not every woman has a uterus and/or ovaries. Plus, there are many women who are peri-or postmenopausal who also can not reproduce (in perimenopause myself, it’s questionable whether I can reproduce – and I have no interest in finding out). The ability to reproduce does not make any of us more or less a woman.

I held this same position for a long time. I’m still struggling to get past it. In truth, I made excuses to myself to keep these same beliefs. For instance, I know biology does sometimes produce humans with one chromosomal configuration (XX or XY), but physical sexual characteristics of the other, both, or neither, or trisomy (XXX, XYY, XXY). Did God make a mistake in those cases? How is a chromosomal male with female sexual characteristics supposed to identify, or visa versa, or someone with atrophied physical sexual characteristics. Did God curse them? Does he consider them an abomination? Does he love them like he supposedly loves everyone else?

What about before humans understood anything about genetics? Was it okay then for a “man” with female sexual characteristics to live as a “woman”? Would it have been “sinful” for them to live as a “man”? Finally admitting that some exceptions to binary obviously exist, I am forced to consider the possibility of other exceptions.

I still don’t understand how gender, orientation, or any of this works. But once I got out of my bubble, I got a lot more exposure to people who were not all just like me. I learned that without my pre-programmed condemnation I actually like many of them. I may still have lingering discomfort, but now I ask myself “How does this hurt me?”. The answer is “It doesn’t”. How does this hurt society? It doesn’t. I know that’s a long way from affirmation, but it’s a start.

A relative came out as transgender some years ago. I was very uncomfortable with that. I didn’t understand how could it happen in a Christian family. Predictably, prejudice, including my own, pushed this relative away from the church and the family. I wonder whose “choice” was more destructive? I vote for those of us who preferred to damage a relationship because we cared more about “sharing the truth in love” than loving our own family/friend. WWJD, I wonder? I am trying to restore that relationship, but it may never happen. I can’t blame them for not trusting me.

I suspect RF is really just a run-of-the-mill internet troll who is amused it can provoke so many reactions. Even if it really is an evangelical fundie with an over-active fetish for God’s wrath, it keeps returning only because it keeps getting fed.

He’s the real deal. I’ve been dealing with him for two years. He’s used numerous fake names and email addresses, though when we first started interacting, he used his real email address. He eventually blocked me from responding to his emails.

He’s way too conversant in Evangelical theology to just be a run-of-the-mill Internet troll. Sadly, there are Evangelicals who are nasty, hateful, vile, vicious, and violent. I’ve received death threats from such people over the years. They have gone after my wife and children too. It’s important for people to “see” the ugly underbelly of Evangelical Christianity. Responding to their comments/emails allows me to achieve this goal.

Revival Fires illustrates a sickness within Evangelicalism. This sickness is far more pervasive than many people think. I daily wade in the Evangelical sewer for the work I do on this blog. This sickness abounds, though many Evangelicals do a better job of covering up their vileness than Revival Fires. He’s a bad man, but, hey, he loves Jesus.

Bruce, my thanks to you for making your blog a safe place for people like me. It’s taken months of lurking in the background before I got confident enough to begin to participate in discussions. What I am going through right now, many of your regulars went through years ago. It’s emotional and very stressful to deal with. I needed somewhere I could share what’s going on in my head. You’ve granted me that and I’m grateful.

I’m not ready to come out to friends, family and church. I expect judgement, but nothing like what you’ve described and what I’ve seen from some of the toxic commenters here. It boggles my mind that professing Christians can behave this way, even though I have seen enough vile Christian websites demonstrate that very fact. I hold out hope that the people who will be shocked and disappointed in my deconstruction will remain civil, even as I fear the worst. I am very sorry for the abuse you, your family, and friends absorb.

My very favorite line… “As Christians, we are to love our neighbors NOT participate in or support their fantasies. ”
DUDE!! As a Christian, YOU ARE participating in a fantasy!!

Also, if you don’t understand or support trans humans, that’s really YOUR problem. So shut up and sit over there and rock back and forth and worry and fret over something that will make absolutely NO DIFFERENCE to you, even if you live to be 200 years old.

PS… you’re not ‘loving your neighbors’. You’re obsessing over stuff that is none of your goddamn business.

    Shithead.

Knowing the “doctor,” there probably is a poorly written response or two on his blog by now. The one thing that is guaranTEEd is that it will be lacking in logic or truth. Oh well, the world keeps turning.

Edit, just checked his blog and there is not a response yet, rather dissapointing

    • Ben Berwick

I love how he says ‘love our neighbours’, yet a constant theme in his posts (and for that matter, throughout all the historical stuff I’ve found), is that he is rude and condescending. He is arrogant and conceited to those he proclaims to offer the truth to, and certainly doesn’t seem to act out of love or kindness. The demonization of transgender individuals is a stain upon our society, and one that evangelicals seem determined to make worse.

I know there’s been a bit of speculation from those who have followed “Dr. David Tee” across the interwebs over the years. I thought I’d expand on it some.

Some of you have divined his real name to be David Thiessen. You’re half right. His name is Derrick Thomas Thiessen, and he’s a Canadian national.
“David” is a name he probably picked up after he stole his then-girlfriend’s identity (Social Security Number) to facilitate procurement of employment in the United States, where he was living illegally. If David is his legal name, it’s a relatively new development.
His “doctorate” is from a paper mill. He has never, to my knowledge, submitted to a curriculum created by any accredited institution.
His Bible is missing 1 Timothy 5:8 (“[b]ut if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever”) as he probably began using the abridged version of his last name shortly after he was ordered to pay child support to the child he fathered, of which he never paid a penny before disappearing from the child-support enforcement system’s radar.
But his Bible does have a unique translation of Ephesians 5:22, the same one other males of the species use to justify being abusive to their wives. Except most of them at least aren’t so cowardly to assert that dominance over a quadriplegic who not only can’t fight back, she can’t easily run away from it.

Interesting information. Of course nobody reading Thiessen’s nonsensical prattles would think he has even primary school qualifications, never mind a doctorate! The multiple identities probably explains why he always writes in the first person plural, namely ‘we’.

Original poster here. Everything I posted originally is the unvarnished truth.

The name “David Tee” comes from whole cloth, as does the name “David” in general. “Derrick” is the name that he answered to relative to at least three legal documents in my physical possession. One of them involves a restraining order, which is why I am being somewhat vague with what I post publicly. Although an extensive amount of time has passed, I do not wish to be located and identified by him or any apologists he may have.

I believe my recent e-mail to him, sent from a throwaway account, is the inspiration for his latest blog post, meaning he has narrowed my identity down to two, possibly three, people … but he would have long-outdated information if he ever came looking for any of the three, and I’d like to keep it that way.

I am also in physical possession of the court transcript of a deposition in which he conceded, under oath, that he interchangeably used “David Thiessen” and “D. David Thiessen” (as well as “David Ford”) as a pseudonym, supposedly to hide from his family in Calgary. Although, the informal name change roughly coincides with him fleeing (I believe) Washington state after being charged with domestic violence in the mid-90s. The victim was the same person who he claims – quoting from his sworn testimony – “told me she was giving me my freedom” by handing over her Social Security card for him to use for employment purposes. This, presumably, is one of the half-truths and lies he rants about in his blog, although he doesn’t clarify which part of his account of that encounter is only half-true.

How vague and ambiguous, yet victim blaming/shaming? Most of it was read with, “blah, blah, blah, wah, wah, wah…in the Charlie Brown teacher voice, so I went back and read it again. It seemed like some sort of cryptic code for, “I;m an asshole but it’s your fault because I’m born again and you are not and I’m talking as though it’s someone else and not me” Does that about sum it up? Or should I go back to the Charlie Brown teacher voice?
