Squirrel Appreciation Day

Squirrel Appreciation Day is actually on January 21st. Yes, there really IS a squirrel appreciation day. In honor of the rats with long tails that have so often been the subject of my photography, here’s a few squirrel pictures I thought you might enjoy.

These pictures are cute. Where I live we (more or less) affectionately call them, “tree rats”. A friend of mine even had one as an indoors pet!

Ummm…the black squirrel peeked in Bruce’s window and discovered shocking things about Bruce. (Yep, I am still laughing about your circumcision post!)

Hope your day is going well, Bruce.

Actually Bruce, squirrels are “rats with bushy tails”, as opposed to what we call pigeons in New York. That would be “rats with wings”. Yes, I know that would technically make them bats. I didn’t say people make sense.

Your squirrel pics are so good, I’m almost considering not cheering the next time I see one run over in the road. But then I’ll remember the evil things running up the stucco sides of my house and leaving the empty shells on EVERY flat surface in my yard. However they are still wonderful pictures.
