A friend of mine sent me links to several old news stories from 1993 about Jack and David Hyles. Jack Hyles was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana, and his son David was the church’s youth director. David would later be shipped out of town in the dead of night, left to prey on more young women at Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas (a church formerly pastored by Jack Hyles).

The Hyles family are the Skywalker family of the IFB movement.
Unfortunately, it doesnt seem that any of them will will restore balance to the church.
Ian, how exactly does one attempt to balance something designed to harm, to lead bipeds into false beliefs about their hearts and minds? Once you accept the premise at door, that people are fallen creatures in need of magic Jesus, you are already wayyyy out of balance.
The fantasy of the balanced church is just that… The president of the USA ran on the fantasy of making America great again. He could do this because Christianity has long been teaching the fantasy song of being born-again. America, of course, was never great but that does not matter one bit because Trump is selling a lie, a wish that is born of denial. Christians lined up to vote for him because of the song he sang, eternal happiness again just like it used to be… When was the church balanced, in your view? You clearly suggest it was at some time or other. I am curious to know something new and this is new(s) to me.
It was sarcasm mixed with a Star Wars reference.
