Twenty-plus Democrat presidential aspirants have been reduced to basically five credible candidates—37-year-old Millennial and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is one of them, who could get the nomination or be on the ticket as vice president. If the aging Biden wins the nomination and presidency, then one day “passes,” we’d have our first openly practicing homosexual, accompanied by his gay “spouse” Chasten, as president of the United States. Time magazine already put them on the cover as our potential “First Family” (May 2019).
Interviewed for USA Today in an article titled “Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Countercultural Approach to Christianity is What America Needs Now,” the “devoted Christian” takes aim at our president for hypocrisy; attacks the “religious right”; advocates our Christian faith going in a “progressive direction” and wants LGBTQ proponents to “beckon people onto the right side of history.”

While engaging in conversations regarding Mr. Buttigieg’s lifestyle and other “gay Christians,” we’ll need to “winsomely and skillfully “speak the truth in love” (Eph. 4:15). Remaining silent conveys support for what the Bible clearly reveals as serious sin before our Holy God. He may be articulate and attractive but the liberal Episcopalian Mayor Pete advances heretical positions to the masses.
Today people can self-identify as anything they want and society airbrushes away what in our heart of hearts we know to be wrong in order to appear non-judgmental, welcoming and politically correct. Majoring on people’s “brokenness” and minimizing their sinfulness, we’re viewing this conduct as “not so big a deal” to skirt accusations of “bigotry, hate speech and intolerance.”

Whether it’s Mr. Buttigieg or simply people we know, a person claiming to be an authentic Christian and a practicing homosexual is, according to Scripture, a counterfeit convert.

Scripture throughout forbids sexual involvement in seven areas: with parents, children, another’s spouse, siblings, same sex, animals and dead people. There is not one verse in all the Bible that affirms the practice of homosexuality.
Homosexuality is considered an abomination before God and is classified as immoral, unnatural, shameful, indecent and perverse (Rom. 1:18-25, 1 Cor. 6:9-11, 1 Tim. 1:8-11, Rev. 20:13-14, Lev. 18:22, Lev. 20:10-14).

I’m voting for Pete Buttigieg, but I can’t defend his Christianity from attacks like this. The Bible DOES condemn homosexuality. It’s why I left the faith.
I was told and told in conversations with pastors of all stripes that ‘Salvation’ is by bee-leephe, and fayuth, and is completely separate from what we do/ don’t do etc. ‘Salvation’ is a ‘Free Gift of Grace’! In practical day to day living, they quite obviously don’t really believe this however. Which makes them LIARS! And we know that as LIARS, they are clearly not True Kriss-Chunzz! 🙂
If we get to define who is and isn’t a Christian, I’d like to start with people who do public prayer aren’t Christians. People who don’t believe in separation of state aren’t Christians. This excludes most of the self righteous fundys who take the speck out of their neighbor’s eye while ignoring the log in their own eye. Homosexuality itself was never addressed by J.C. himself, but everything I’ve quoted are direct edicts from the man-god himself.
People who marry aren’t true Christians, people who don’t sell all they have and give it all to the poor, people who don’t feed the hungry, clothe the naked and visit the sick aren’t true Christians; people who don’t do as Jesus tells them in every respect aren’t true Chrstians. The list goes on and on.
The self-righteous aren’t worried though, ‘cos they buy into Paul’s salvation magic. They don’t need to do these things to be saved, despite what Jesus said.
The new rule is that, even though it’s okay to fall short in every other way, you just can’t be gay. Thats the one big no-no for Christians today. Why Pete wants to be such an icky, tacky thing as… a Christian is completely beyond me.
..….or sleeping with anyone if you’re not married to them, whoremongering, masturbating etc. etc. I’ve thought long and hard, (pun perhaps intended, but maybe not 🙂 ) about why religion has such a burr up its posterior regarding just about anything/ everything to do with S-E-X, both when I was struggling along trying to be the best X-Chee-Ann I could be, and since I’ve left The Fay-eth. I have a theory that it’s because our sexuality, however it may manifest itself, freaks people out. It’s uncontrollable. People can ‘come to Christ’, again, pun intended/ not……and decide to get a legit job, and cease dealing drugs, or stealing. They can seek out help for a chemical dependency issue, and while certainly not easy, get and remain clean & sober if they truly desire that in their lives. However, we can’t just turn off our sexual impulses like a light switch because we now believe that some tyrannical ogre somewhere out there is monitoring our every move, and even thought. Religious sexual repression DOESN’T WORK….All we need to do is look at the Catholic church, and some of these weirdos in the Black Collar Crime Series on here to see that. So knowing this, I guess looking down upon and judging others whose ‘sin’ is far and away worse than ours, assuages our guilt to a degree, and helps us to feel better, if only marginally, about ourselves before said Tyrannical Ogre.
I don’t understand the need to attack Christianity for not being inclusive when you’ve accepted that Christianity isn’t true. If it isn’t true, then the less appealing it is, the better for everyone.
But if you’re a liberal Christian, I can see the need to put lipstick on a pig.
Because, Brunetto, Christianity still wields massive influence – in terms of rights for LGBT people, for example, the teaching of science and the formulation of laws that affect everyone. This is particularly the case in the U.S. (Ken Ham says that here in the UK, we live in spirtual darkness, which is fine by me.)
Christianity’s very unattractiveness is, perversely, of considerable attraction to some. An erroneous, discredited belief system that continues both to denigrate and to shape the lives of millions has to be opposed.
