There were more comments under BGs [Bruce Gerencser’s] post as well as some made here [which I refused to publish] that are very wrong, mean-spirited, and so on. We will post some of them here and the biggest question to answer is- what good would it do to defend ourselves?
….
We looked and thought about Jesus’ trial and why he did not defend himself against all the charges and insults hurled his way. The answer came in the form of a question- what good would it do?
People who hate Christ are going to hate Christians for many reasons. Unless convicted by God’s Holy Spirit, they are not going to change. They will believe whatever they want whether it is true or not.
They will also do almost anything they can to undermine any defense you make. They will take half-truths, half a story, or even make up stuff to get at you. It is just not worth the time or energy to defend oneself from such people.
There is no reasoning with these people and making a defense just won’t accomplish what you want it to. Stephen tried it and he is accusers stopped up their ears before stoning him. In most cases making a defense does not change the outcome.

We cannot kill injure or harm them nor can we throw their souls into hell. Nor can our opposing points of view. They really should be afraid of God who, as the Bible says, can kill both body and soul and toss them into hell.
Their denial of these facts does not spare them the reality of it happening to them.

Let me add a WTF quote:
And if they [Bruce Gerencser and Ben Berwick] do anything to us (me) [what, martyr you for Hey-Zeus?], God will raise up someone else to take our (my) place. There has always been a messenger of God [I alone am a true prophet of God] in the world’s midst. Even when the one world government comes, there will be two witnesses present.
Bruce Gerencser, 67, lives in rural Northwest Ohio with his wife of 46 years. He and his wife have six grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Bruce pastored Evangelical churches for twenty-five years in Ohio, Texas, and Michigan. Bruce left the ministry in 2005, and in 2008 he left Christianity. Bruce is now a humanist and an atheist.

What an amazing ego this dipshit has. He’s going to need a special room, probably about the size of a warehouse to store his arrogance. Also, he’s stupid. No one wants to ‘get to him’. I do wish there were a god, though. I’d like to see the festivities when he’s laughed out of the afterlife.
“One world government”? Tee needs to have tea with someone, even a fellow self-absorbed narcissist. He is sinking into delusions from lack of social life.
This guy continues in his tomfoolery. I’m trying to ignore his writing in the plural, something that shouts pompous from the rooftops, but I’m still left with the inconsistent ramblings he presents as lucid argument. He rants on about evidence, how we make wild allegations without any evidential support, yet the exact reverse is true.
The evidence suggests that everything he believes is false.
The evidence is overwhelming that the bible is nothing more than a collection of man inspired texts, cobbled together in a random way, reflecting the culture of the times they were written but of no relevance to the modern day.
The evidence supports the likelihood that an actual rabbi existed on whom the Jesus story was based, but that nothing else about him is true, other than that he was crucified. The nativity, resurrection, and miracle stories can be shown to be false to an evidential level far beyond reasonable doubt.
The gospel of John is considered a forgery (for an understanding of forgery, a major problem for Christian writing, in regard to ancient texts see Bart Ehrman), not because of the whim of atheists, but because that’s what the evidence says. The writer of John is anonymous, and certainly wasn’t a ‘favoured disciple’.
Tee pretends to be an academic. He isn’t on the first rung.
Wow, I must have made the “nice” list. I guess my attempt to be less mean to prejudiced Christ followers is working?
Like many Christians he claims horrible persecution when he doesn’t really face persecution. His persecution comes from people telling him to stop trying to control other people or con the into joining his particular christian sect. It’s a terrible life when people demand that you quit attempting to manipulate others.
Meanwhile, gay, lesbian, trans, non binary people face discrimination in work, housing, and life in general. They face Christian bigots whoring themselves to political causes with the goal to remove any rights gained, with an ultimate goal to eliminate or eradicate LGBTQ people. Christians lead the assault on vulnerable LGBTQ kids, and blatantly lie that schools or some phantom agenda is recruiting their kids to turn gay or trans. This guys fellow religious zealots want to deny the existence of people like me. And if that is not enough, his fellow Christian hate-mongerers are calling for LGBTQ people to be killed, and all of this hateful rhetoric spewed by Christians and their political enforcers is leading to increased threats and increased violence against LGBTQIA+ people.
No one would choose to face the challenges that LGBTQIA+ people face due to the actions of other people. There are days I just want it all go away, but I am to stubborn to allow that to win. Instead I prefer to stay vocal and confront this hate and hopefully help others in the process.
Ba ha ha, he thinks he is like Jesus Christ!!!!! If that isn’t egotistical, I don’t know what is!!!!
OMG! Re “We looked and thought about Jesus’ trial and why he did not defend himself against all the charges and insults hurled his way.”
Did not Jesus come to Jerusalem to be executed and then resurrected? Are these not the primal foundations of the religion of Christianity?
So, if Jesus, now considered “God” were to use his massive intellect and talk himself out of those charges, which He surely could, what would have been the consequences/ Well, no crucifixion, no resurrection, and no Christianity.
The Good Doctor seems to be somewhat of an idiot.
Dear David. Doesn’t realize that every time he responds, he’s defending himself.
He is enough of a narcissist to build a cult around him. Fortunately for us, I don’t think he has the cojones to do it.
I must say, though, that he impresses me in one way: He takes gaslighting to levels I couldn’t have even imagined.
Sounds like Tee is ” tee’d” off again, bloviating about nothing. When he refers to ” we,” it’s actually he/ himself/ and Theissen. Yes, he’s quite the narcissist isn’t he, lol.
That royal “we” that Derrick uses has me wondering if the crowd of people who live in his head all talk to each other. Has the crowd increased over time? Do they all get along? What do all of Derrick’s crowd members’ voices sound like?
