Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a two-minute video clip of Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (IFB) megachurch pastor Jack Hyles telling an overtly racist joke in one of his sermons from the pulpit of First Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana. (You may have to turn your device volume up to hear the video.)
Bruce Gerencser, 66, lives in rural Northwest Ohio with his wife of 45 years. He and his wife have six grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Bruce pastored Evangelical churches for twenty-five years in Ohio, Texas, and Michigan. Bruce left the ministry in 2005, and in 2008 he left Christianity. Bruce is now a humanist and an atheist.

Yeah. That was as bad as the expected. It just shows the horrid character of this disgusting man, and shows how people supported his vile nature regardless of his actions.
This is the perfect example why my defenses go up when someone tells me they are Christian. I expect the worst and am very careful around them for my own safety.
It may be true that it’s not all Christians, but enough of hate me to the point where they want my eradication. I opt on the side of safety and seldom trust someone claiming to be Christian.
Well that was cringe-worthy. Even worse was some of the comments under the video where people were defending him.

No matter how much alcohol Jack Hyles falsely claimed brother Danny Ortiz may have consumed the night before, there was no way Jack Hyles would have beaten Danny Ortiz in any type of foot race. I present the evidence of the drubbing of the Israeli baseball team by the baseball team of Puerto Rico. I’m being sarcastic. That was pretty offensive of Jack Hyles
