This is the one hundred and sixtieth installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section. Let’s have some fun!
Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a video clip of Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame, speaking at the 2017 Value Voters Summit.
I’m almost tempted to ask the Democratic Party four little words: “Do y’all love Jesus?” The reason I’m asking you, Democratic Party, is I’ve never heard you say one way or the other! Do you love Him? And I’m waiting on an answer.
I want to ask CNN that. CBS. MSNBC. Do you folks love Jesus, because I’ve never heard you say, one way or the other, or maybe, do you hate Him? Do you love Him or do you hate Him? I unashamedly say I love Him. I will tell anybody that.

It is not the job or any political party to proclaim the gospel of Donald Trump(White American Jesus™), that is Sean hannity’s job?.
On a more serious note I seem to remember some liberal pastor getting a lot of pushback for comparing syrian refugees to Jesus who became a refugee in Egypt depending on which gospel account you read. Mr Robertson probably disagrees with this interpretation of course and only his orange tinged racist mysoginistic jesus from GOD’S OWN PARTY is the only true Jesus
Of course it would also be at the Values Voters summit headed by the Family Research Council whose research mainly consists of either discredited studies or actual studies where they leave out the most important parts of the findings to smear gay people and project an image that in no way fits reality.
Wouldn’t Mr. Robertson have a fit if someone asked the Democratic Party, “Do you love Mohammed”?
Hi Phil, I am a Democrat and I consider myself to be a Christian. Albeit an opeminded one. So I guess that answers that.
