Tony Hutson

This is the one hundred and eighty-fourth installment in The Sounds of Fundamentalism series. This is a series that I would like readers to help me with. If you know of a video clip that shows the crazy, cantankerous, or contradictory side of Evangelical Christianity, please send me an email with the name or link to the video. Please do not leave suggestions in the comment section.  Let’s have some fun!

Today’s Sound of Fundamentalism is a video clip from a service held by Tony Hutson, pastor of Middle Tennessee Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Hutson is the son of the late Curtis Hutson, editor of the Sword of the Lord. — an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist periodical started by John R. Rice. In the video clip, Hutson shares a litany of things that offend him.

Wow, he managed to get offended at a cop who didn’t want to injure someone and yet not mention “the gays” once. Something is screwy here because I thought my mere existance would be offensive to him. Oh well baby steps I suppose ?.

Well, this made my morning! I was laughing so much. I grew up in middle Tennessee, so this brought back memories of some of the preaching I heard at church from some of the guest preachers. Lol.

Well, Tony and I agree about one thing – we like good food. But that’s about it. Otherwise he just sounds like an ignorant, bigoted buffoon.

And what’s his obsession with white shirts? That’s a thing?

Yiu can tell this guy absolutely LOVES being the center of attention.

this guy is a huge egomaniac. why would these people care about all his likes and dislikes? I spent my childhood listening to this crap, I was done w/church by age 12-just went because dad was a minister. still struggle w/belief in god vs nonbelief but I am working thru the process. I am over church though because of idiots like this guy.

I hate Tony and his church! They are a cult! I would know my husband’s whole family goes there and the things they do and believe are fucking crazy!
